Lonely Summer

Lonely Summer

A Poem by Choosing Life
"

speaks for itself

"

Passions become something I once dreamt
Maybe a lonely summer spent
With flowers blooming to die is what was meant
My mental shifts make me drift
And I float on a hazy dazed remembrance
Of a kiss that dyed my soul
Turned it to coal
Ain't no diamond in my eyes
I remember the lines
In my ears
Tied my hands behind me
Left me skeptically surveying your heart
My view skewed to blue
And shade is all I knew
While the sun blazed me
My skin burned and maybe I learned
Nothing
While trying to have everything
It stings
Yet I tried to tie our hearts together like shoestrings
And a noose to my soul it became
While I hang in the balance
My faith in love be challenged
Masked underneath false security
I walk on in obscurity
Living only to dream
Waking to nightmarish realities
And symphonies play only momentarily
As love be known so sparingly
I forget
