My heart beats words

That often leaves us baffled

Similes and metaphors of a love

We seem to know but have never lived

A life so in need

Of words whispered in life

Removing hidden agendas

From their purpose

No laced tragedies resting under love’s touch

A memory never experienced

Is not less than one lived

For the mind recalls both just the same

And in me you are burned

A brand I wear with pride

A sweet treasure my soul is so sure of

And though your lips have never touched mine

Your kiss lingers just the same

And your hands trace the outline of my being

With such gentle goodness

 That I forget you not

Even though you have yet to be to me…
