Embracing Goodbye

 

Rivers of salty waters flow,

Broken and cracked is smile

A million ways to goodbye

We missed hello by miles.

I look away as my heart is broken

I guess it is okay for me to be left hoping

No where to go but to moving on

No one to hold now that you’re gone

A million tears have graced this face

So many hurts that can't be erased

Many rivers of brokenness to cross

Many shores of loves that I lost

Hope remains my closest friend

As I lose my heart once again

Bitterness tries to drown you out

Loving you has left me fighting doubt

Peace is here within my soul

It is never easy letting go

I love you beyond this pain

Bitterness can’t survive where love remains

Each tasted tear has proved to be sweet

For I refuse to give into deceit

My mind can not make me build up walls

For it is time for the all of the old ones to fall

Hurt comes and then there is healing

Time stands still for A TIME OF REVEALING

A Better me I shall be

Even as I embrace goodbye

I still believe in love for me

Loving me enough to set you free

First off, your title peaked my interest.

Then these two lines grabbed my attention.
"Bitterness tries to drown you out"
"Bitterness can't survive where love remains"
So often we want to forget someone, but our hearts won't let us.

But the part that did it for me was the closing.
"Even as I embrace goodbye
I still believe in love for me
Loving me enough to set you free"
This is what love is all about. Not trying to possess that which we love, because that would destroy any love.
