Unwittingly

A Poem by Choosing Life
"

Death Of All Dreams

"

Illustrious moves had me entangled
In the image you portrayed
With ease
Such decadent drippings from your tongue
Landed on skin that needed to be reminded
That it was beautiful
And like moth to a flame
I begin to crave the burn
Or totally dismiss it for just a minute
To travel in oblivion
In your ethereal fallacy
And play princess on pedestal
Believing I was chosen out of many
Instead of the many chosen by one
Many blisters on my skin
Didn’t ring true
For the drippings of your tongue slathered me
And I basked in false glory
I was the muse of the world
Becoming another part of a story
That would be whispered
Down cyber halls
From the voices and minds of those
That think that they know
I stammered over traces of love
Just enough to make me hope in you
And just enough to lay day my convictions
Long enough to taste of your desires
To conquest a soul that seemed off limits
But you never needed me
Pawn in some silly mental chess game
I became
A causality unwittingly
