Silence Screams

Silence Screams

A Poem by Choosing Life
"

When all you can do is stop and be still...

"

As silence blares

I feel emptiness

And it is scary

To feel so small

In this universe

Microscopic

Like air particles

And dust

Just swirling about

And to feel so alone

Even invisible

Knowing that eyes

Can’t see

The real me

And upon lines

My heart stops

For if it is felt

I wonder if it is understood

And if good

Doesn’t equate to right

Why is right so hard

And often times ignored

But silence has a voice

Most often we are too consumed

By our own justification

To hear it speak

To busy trying to make sense

Of things that weren’t meant

To be understood

Looking for release

From the chains we have

Made an adornment

Walking in shame

For things beyond our control

And praying that God

Will set us free

He looks wondering

Why we don’t walk on

Instead of stumbling over

And laying under

What has been done

He waits for us to be

And silence even screams

Stop and be still
