Deadly Lullaby

Deadly Lullaby

A Poem by Cierra

Hush now my baby

It’s time to go to sleep.

Dream of lands unknown to man,

And forever be in peace.

If this world has done you wrong,

Let it go and get some sleep.

If it’s time, let it be, but

Rest assured there’s more to see.

Don’t say a word,

Let our silence do the talking.

Promise to remember me,

Now that death is knocking.

In no time, we’ll meet once more.

Close your eyes, rest your head.

Sleep in your lullaby and know, soon,

We’ll all be dead.

I notice that no one has reviewed this, but hey, I really admired it! I always loved bedtime stories/lullabies when I was younger. I enjoyed the use of rhyme throughout and the truth you shared. Yes, we will all be dead eventually, but we should make our lives the best we see fit while we get the time.
