Let GoA Poem by Elena RojasI specifically favor this poem out of the majority of the poems I have made. This poem describes the complicated feelings and trials many people go through in their day to day lives.
The sun is setting beyond the hills, And upon the mountains, you can see faint snow; Melting away as something within is telling you one thing, And that one thing is: Let go.
The long day has left you restless and troubled, But alas, in the end you can hear nature’s last song, And despite the fact that Spring is telling you to let go, All you can hear and think now is one thing: Hold on.
The road is long as you drive through the night to unknown dreams; -As you remember every good deed, but also every sin. You can see the blurry lights of buildings passing by, And all you can think is one thing: -Give in.
But alas, the sun is rising now, And you can see that the road is not too long, And despite the thoughts and terror that came in the night, All you can think now is: Push on.
The pavilion is large in width and height, As it towers every building in town, But alas, these riches only tell you one thing as you look over, Saying to you, now is the time: Jump Down
The cliff is large, the rocks are steep, And unlike the night, a different voice speaks to you at day. -For instead of telling you to jump off into the unknown, It is telling you one thing: Step away.
The empty room leaves you speechless and hurt, As you stare at the roof, debating truth and lies. The darkness and loneliness of the room telling you one thing, Repeating in your minds ear: Close your eyes.
The day awakens you, with some sort of finality, As you have forgotten about your past mistakes, And unlike the tearful night before, You can hear a hopeful voice saying: Stay awake.
Your day goes happy and hopeful, as you laugh and go about… but alas before you know, You find yourself once again staring at the sunset, -With one small voice in the back of your mind telling you one thing: Let go. © 2018 Elena RojasAuthor's Note
