Her Love of NightA Poem by ChickyFor the ones who find the greatest company with the moonlight through their windows. She creeps down the hall with the floor slightly creaking, The soft glow of the moon shines on the side of her face. She hears the rustling of leaves from the trees outside speaking, And the buzzing of beetles all over the place. The accompanying silence she adores to embrace, Something about it makes her cold heart ignite. Her worries and strife leaving without a trace, The girl who has fallen in love with the night. The thoughts in her head have briefly stopped shrieking As the rush of the wind fills this desolate space. The feeling of calmness that she had been seeking Enclosed her in arms that held beauty and grace. This notorious night she’ll continue to chase While she settles to sleep at the hint of daylight. She’ll dream of an eternal darkness someplace, The girl who has fallen in love with the night. © 2021 ChickyAuthor's Note
