SuperheroesA Poem by ChickyWhen our superheroes don't come to save the day, do we get our happy ending?Superman never showed up. Neither did Spiderman. Or Iron Man. Or Batman. Nobody did. So when I was falling off the deep end, Who was there to catch me? Exactly. Nobody. But how can I blame anyone? I was miles away from any sort of civilization. Who could’ve heard me crying for help? Who could’ve known I was in distress? Nobody. My superheroes never showed up. I was fighting alone. Again. And again. And again. I defeated every single villain alone. Again. And again. And again. My superheroes never showed up. But then you did. And suddenly, I wasn’t fighting alone anymore. © 2021 ChickyAuthor's Note
