IF A POET CALLS

IF A POET CALLS

A Poem by G

if a poet answers then what

    would we make love

to each other with pen and paper

    writing words of love

all over our bodies

          with indelible ink

or would be talking

       with our tongues

dangling participles

             like drops of honey

while our fingers

      tap tympatically

raising goosebumps of flesh

   like outbursts of exclamation points

how would it end

a decimal point or a question mark

  if a poet calls

            then what

This line... "or would be talking

with our tongues

dangling participles

like drops of honey"...

was very sexy! I enjoyed this poem; it made me think of having a conversation with another poet that is like the beginning of a relationship and you pause and grab a napkin and pen out a poem to pass them with a smile and start something that lasts for years... or at least until the end of the next open mic... LOL...

I like you how put the cause after the effect... it's like taking a ride backwards through words... if a poet answers, then if a poet calls... I also am starting to see a recurring theme of presenting questions within your poems... which is good... it automatically provokes the reader to think and that's beautiful... thanks for sharing yourself.

If a Poet calls you out then what? I feel like you called every poet out that uses his pen and pad to court the prey. I enjoy this piece. Simplistic but realistic. Wonderful write. I enjoyed the flow and the questions. Thanks for creating and sharing.

Sounds like you got it all figured out. Poets are nothing but talkers... I'd rather have a stalker! LOL
