i am college trained
    i take no pride in that

  i have achieved the dreams of my father

      i have failed the dreams of my father
my father was college educated
      he never made it past third grade
he owned a house and ran a business
 that was a long time ago
          he expected more of me
                                  i expected more
i am college educated
     i followed the american dream
                               once again  I got robbed
 education plus debt equals wealth
      i missed that math class
                    i lost my mule
       i am college trained
i didn’t learn that lesson
  one step above the street pharmacist
i was trained well by america
    to good…….. to scared
                      to join  the ranks of  homelessness
i am college trained
      i can do anything
except find a job
        excuse me career
i am too smart
     overqualified
i lack experience
give me your tired
     your poor
your humbled masses
                               crossing illegally
i am college trained

the bible took their land

no reparations for me
