NO CANVAS

NO CANVAS

A Poem by G

what's an artist to do

when there's no canvas to paint

a poet

can always find paper and pen

if i did

graffiti

i would always have a canvas

i'm a lover

          without a partner

self stimulation

is like trying

      to eat memories

how to tell a story

          without

                       a medium

splotches of color

                 removes my pain

like  words never

                     do

a musician

        always has an audience

him/her self

        the echoes of  a song

                 that floats

                                 to unsuspecting ears

an artist without

                             a canvas

splotches of color

             howling to get out

 and only

                the deaf

             hear my screams

Only the deaf hears your screams. Interesting metaphor. Nicely written.
