Rape

Rape

A Poem by Tinasha LaRayé
"

so...i straightened my hair - and it was the first time I hated doing it, the first time I wanted to undo what I did to return how God made me...Black, with kinky hair and tight curls.

"

Sweet satin curls

Cascade across my brow

Full tresses hang taut and tight

Spiral delight

Upon my crown

I woo you with my waters

And honeymoon you with liquid magic

Creamed dressings

Caressing you with fingers

Strong wrists

And twists of joints to change you

Then heat to blades of life

Dead but mine

I blow you down

And have my way

Lay you straight

Then take your spiral

And flatten it inside my burrow of fiery force

The journey took it’s course

You are now

And forever

Transformed

Brown

And shiny

And blowing

In the wind

And who are you again?

Go natural, gurl! I love the imagery of curls you displayed here. "Twists" "spiral" "full tresses hang taut and tight" ALL WONDERFUL DESCRIPTIONS.

I am nobody and you are special. I hope that answers your question
