SuicideA Poem by Tinasha LaRayéBlack on Black Crime....My brother murdered me today With his embarrassing display of
what it means to demand respect on the street. Buffoonery under the stoplight. Eyes green with go-power to destroy
himself. No contempt for his skin, For the lineage he's in. I - a standing mirror Look on with confusion and sorrow. Begging for tomorrow that won't
come. For my brother walked to my side Filled with rotten pride Turned before me and looked at
himself. Caring more about the shine than
the reflection, He lifted his gun and aimed in my
direction. Wincing, I - the mirror could do
nothing but stand and attempt to deflect what we all knew was coming. Staring at himself He pulled the trigger with his eyes Blinked 7 to 8 times And erased me from his mind. I - Shattered glass Murdered from his hate Death cry Blood in my tears Screams from the years of repeated,
un-repented destruction Suicide His skin is mine My tears are my own His lack of shame is full grown And his time left…unknown He is me And I am Gone. © 2010 Tinasha LaRayéAuthor's Note
