Never-Ending Story

Never-Ending Story

A Poem by Tinasha LaRayé
"

As I perused through my newsfeed on facebook during the debate - I found it was full, not of just different opinions - but ugly, hateful, spiteful behavior. I hate politics. that is all.

"

Flipping worn pages in the book of American rights -

Wrong is the binding that holds together this collection of text

That etches bigotry, idolatry, and trick-onometry

While educating reverse-camaraderie.

The problem with our history

Is that everyone is trying to make it HIS

So busy burning books of competing ideas

That you and I will never be on the same page

As we cuss and kick and scream our way to the grave

Hoping and praying

Your side was the valiant white knight at the end of this storybook

That saved the world

Passion and caring your excuse for misbehaving

Ignorance and stupidity your reasons for degrading

Don’t you see ole Satan’s ratings going sky high?

As the tones and fancy words fulfill their purpose as diversion

From what’s really got us hurting…

Commitment and conviction coated with hate

Drawing bad guys good guys, division is fate

Striving to save lives with all of this debating

So busy politicking…

We forgot to do the saving.
