Looking as I See ItA Poem by Tina MariePoemWhen I look with my eyes open, I am a mother without her children, But with their love, I see: A father building a house that will be lonely, Denying his son, A daughter who will marry and move away for freedom from restrictions, A boy dealing with his mother's death by turning to drugs, Blaming himself for his insecurities, A Young man who has two beautiful daughters, But does not have the maturity or strength to fully trust in God, Or to deal with their mother, Or be in a committed relationship, But has the ability to go far in school and life with conviction, A mother who is suffering great loss of her baby boy, A best friend who has turned to selling herself for money, A daughter desperately seeking to forget that, she still loves her daddy despite his sickness, A widower raising a very young child, And a young women striving despite the pain and hardship over the loss of a mother, The fleeing of her father, A single women raising a beautiful little boy, But not being able to cleave from her parents, A man who loves God, But has been given the beautiful gift of putting God's word in song, But haunted by the believes and sayings of others, He only gets one shot, He must take it. Walking with eyes open is a lot easier with them closed, I just wish they could be where I am, Seeing it all day by day... You can not make day by day easier, Unless you change. © 2014 Tina Marie |
