The Missing Pages of American History Part IIA Story by Dr. Tim WilliamsA brief history that has not been told about Thomas Edison
In an age of unprecedented global warming where the world is fast approaching the point of no return the need for emission free co2 energy is imperative for the survival of humanity. Today, we are just now understanding the very concepts that would allow man to transform our energy grids with non-combustible energy sources. More than four fifths of the worlds sources of electric energy comes from the very fuel sources that contribute to the horrific climate changes that are ravaging the planet. The concepts that are just now being considered as replacements to our existing electric sources have actually been not only proposed but were used not once but on two separate occasions that proved that electricity can be deployed using the planet itself as the soul fuel source. What we are talking about is magnetic energy. Through-out our history there have been inventors that have gained worldwide recognition for their inventions. Some have gone one to fame and fortune while others have faded into obscurity. It is history that is filled with famous people many of whom were actually infamous characters. It was Horace Greeley that once said, "If the legend becomes fact print the legend." This pertains to Americans historically described greatest inventor Thomas Edison. At the turn of the 20th century Thomas Edison was at the height of his profession. But what actually transpired during a span of ten years changed the landscape of America and even the world to the realities we are facing today. What could have been and what actually resulted to where we are today is not accurately portrayed and emphasized in the teaching of our history. History so often won't portray the true characteristics of historical figures. Many have ridden off into the sunset as great contributors to the human experience while others are left in the shadows. The relationship between two such figures in Americana Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla are fascinating insights of what our world today could have been compared to what our realities are. We rarely consider Thomas Edison on the same level of genius as Albert Einstein, nor do we consider Tesla as the greatest American inventor either. But in fact, it was the genius of Tesla whose theories and concepts proved that our world today will eventually have access to free wireless electricity. Tesla who started working for Edison only to be betrayed by Edison envisioned a world where free electric power would be available to everyone. A concept that was foreign to a capitalistic entrepreneur like Thomas Edison. In the early 1900's J.P. Morgan was the financial instrument behind Thomas Edison. The two went on to produce the first for profit electric company. But it was Tesla whose own inventions proved more successful but was ignored by the big financiers like Morgan and company. Without adequate financing Tesla soon found himself abandoning many of his projects that had he had enough financial backing who knows what today would be like. History tells us that Tesla was the one who realized what Magnetic energy is capable of. Essentially, magnetic energy is derived from the earth's magnetic field. If one could harness the power of the earth's magnetic field and convert it into electric energy the possibilities would be endless. While Edison and Morgan were establishing electric power companies Tesla who realized what magnetic energy could do designed the first rectenna which would enable to turn magnetic waves into electricity. His concepts at the time were ridiculed and dismissed as just not physically possible, after all Edison already had the electric light bulb lighting up J.P. Morgan's home and others as well. Without financial assistance to produce a commercial application of his designs for magnetic energy Tesla eventually had to abandon the project. Sad, when so much was lost just because the lack of financial support. A few years latter his designs of producing magnetic energy were realized by Lester Hendershot who fortunately for Charles Lindbergh what is now called the Hendershot generator enabled the Spirit of St. Louis to cross the Atlantic. What history does not disclose is the true fate of what happened to the Spirit of St. Louis after it landed in Paris. What history does report and we are taught is the plane was ferried back to America where it now hangs in the Smithsonian in Washington. The plane was actually dismantled, and the magnetic generator was confiscated by the US Government never to be seen again. The fate of Lester Hendershot today remains a mystery. Of great inventions like the Magnetic Generator or the Precipitator that eliminates industrial smoke that would change the world for the better are constantly withheld from the publics availability unless corporations can gain huge profits. So far they do exist but are very limited because of the costs or are purposely kept out of the public knowledge to be able to benefit from their applications. Profits have always been the major factor as to why or why not certain inventions are deemed practical or not. And, if profits cannot be made within the existing realities today inventions are always prevented from being implemented either by the government or the existing power structure of business today. © 2022 Dr. Tim Williams |
