Senator Sanders in Europe doing damage control

The beginning of June 2017 will be remembered as a watershed moment in American history. This is when the United States surrendered it's global leadership at a time when it is so badly needed. Under President Trump's stewardship America has steadily moved backward in terms of ushering policies and directives that would grow international relationships as well as promoting real authentic economic growth here and abroad. What he has done in just a few short months into his Administration has made a mockery out of the office of the Presidency, offended many European leaders and completely demoralized America's stature in the eyes of the rest of the world. Finally the Republican's in Congress and many in the Democratic party are so inept in understanding the mood of the general public for they are too caught up in the lavishness that their elected positions are furnished with courtesy of corporate sponsors. Caught up to realize that Trump is just a mirror image of the corporate world controlling the destiny of a nation. What we have today is a great example of oligarchy government.

When Trump made the decision to pull out of the Paris Climate Agreement he inadvertently put the rest of the world on notice that the United States would no longer consider Global Warming as an imminent clear and present danger for the planet. He couldn't have been more wrong at a time when the earth is already being drastically affected by rising temperatures. In Europe many leaders consider one person capable of mitigating the rouge rationale of the Trump Administration. Already the damage that Trump has unleashed not only in the United States but in Europe with every executive order and tweet has made the world that much closer to an already mounting catastrophe. Regardless of what many think of what Bernie Sanders did or did not do in last years Presidential race the calm rational of a genuine American just maybe that saving grace this country and the world needs to keep that beacon of hope and light alive in an otherwise darkened world under Trump.

In a series of major addresses in Germany, England, Wales and Ireland Senator Sanders truly understands the dangers facing the entire world. In everyone of those addresses he carefully details the seriousness of not only global warming but the economic and financial impact policy directives proposed by the Trump Administration will have on the United States, Europe and the rest of the world. With over a 78% popular support in the United States today he is the one political figure that has the backing of the majority of the American public. And what a better representative to have on the international stage addressing the majority of the views of the American public to the people of Europe at a time when Trump trampled international relationships just a few days earlier..

A man for all seasons would be aptly applied to describe Bernie Sanders. A rouge Senator in the eyes of the Democratic establishment and yet he has picked up the gauntlet to remind our allies that the United States will do the right thing regardless of what the Trump Administration decrees. It is too bad and even so sad that the party bosses as well as some Democratic up and comers continue to dismiss Senator Sanders as a credible spokesman for America today.  There again many of our elected official remain so out of touch with the public at large having been so swept up in the trappings of elected office. For they really are beholden to the mega donors that fund their campaigns. This instead of working on legislation that would benefit not the 1% but the rest of the 99% of the population. Addressing and working on meaningful legislation that would restore the American Dream that has and is being trampled on by the oligarchy government now in place with the Trump Administration. 

When Senator Sanders went to Europe he did so with the full knowledge to ease the relationships that were tossed aside when Trump failed the test of diplomacy. Trump failed in keeping the long standing alliances between Europe and the United States alive and strengthened. In just a few short days the relationship between Europe and the U.S. has become strained at best. What Senator Sanders has done with his remarks in Europe has gone a long way to heal the wounds that this President has brought upon Europe and the rest of the world. When Trump blatantly pulled the United States out of the Paris Climate Accord he has shown the world that he is incapable of understanding the seriousness that our planet faces today. Thankfully Senator Sanders was in Europe to due damage control to let the Europeans know that the majority of Americans understand the clear and present danger that climate change and global warming have unleashed upon this planet. And, that the American public will do what is right and good for the planet, the nation, Europe and the rest of the world regardless of what Trump attempts to undue. 

The diplomacy of Senator Sanders has to be one of the most relevant moments in today's world. Relevant not only because he understands the dangers facing the world today but is willing and able to firmly address these dangers. He has demonstrated time and time again that he has put solutions on the table for open and meaningful debate. In debate solutions will arise to ease the many crisis that humanity faces today. In the United States solutions already being discussed but are having a difficult time being debated because of the reluctance of the existing power structure and the Trump Administration in refusing to let go of the status-quo. Senator Sanders now a diplomat for the ages brings hope and reason where the Trump Administration has only brought rash impulsiveness that has only made international relationships worse.
