Chapter 2 - It All Started When...A Chapter by Tim Holt, AuthorChapter 2 – It all started when… “Okay see you guys in fourth period!” I yelled to the crew as I headed for English. There she is, and holy crap she’s hot. Now I am and never was a really popular kid. Like most people I am the one in the middle, not too popular but not too nerdy. So like most people I stare until she gets close, and then looks straight ahead as if saying “I’m not worthy” without any words. My heart froze when a hand touched me. It was light and tender, definitely a girl. Probably just Lily asking for last nights homework, she never does it. I was about to turn around and give the idle threat of “I’m not going to give you my homework.” I turned around and my words stopped in my mouth. It was Kelly Anderson. She was smiling and looking at me. I swear I don’t know how I didn’t wet my pants. Close your mouth you idiot!!! I closed my mouth quickly. I somehow managed a “hi” and she smiled back. Dude I swear if Lily slipped drugs in my drink that makes me hallucinate I will kill her later. But back to the present. She opened her mouth to speak. “Hey Dean is throwing a party for dates and I don’t seem to have one,” her beautiful lips formed. Other guys passed staring open mouthed at me. I understood completely. “What happened to Jack?” I managed to force out. “Oh it didn’t work out, and I think you are kind of cute. Scotty, do you want to go with me?” She said and blushed. Something didn’t click in my mind. This was the prettiest girl in school asking me… And did she just say Scotty? How did she even know my name? I was freaking out. But back to the answer. “Umm when is the party?” I asked politely. “It’s on Friday night, it’s going to last from five to about midnight.” She said, and grabbed her arm and bit her lip in that way that the cute girls always seemed to do on TV. It was awesome. “Sure, that would be cool! I’ll see you at the party then?” I said… and it seemed like the wrong thing for some reason. I was supposed to be asking myself a question, but I’ll get back to that later. She was doing something I’d never seen someone do before. She pushed me up against the lockers, tip-toed, and kissed me. Okay if time has ever seemed to freeze in your life to where you didn’t believe what just happened, it did for me there. I swear there were people gaping at me in the hallway, not believing what they were seeing. Again, I totally agreed. “See ya cutie!” she said as she walked away with her blonde hair waving behind her. She looked back one more time and blew a kiss. I swear I could have been drooling and not have noticed it. English went by in a blur, all I remember about it was seeing girls in the class talking in whispers and guys giving me thumbs up, and I would return a weak smile. All I could do was dwell on the kiss that I had gotten from the most popular, beautiful girl in school. …… “Dude if that is lipstick on your lips I will label you as gay,” Walt whispered while the teacher had her back turned. “Yeah…” I said absent-mindedly. “Dude you just totally admitted you are gay!!!” He whispered a little too loud, to which the teacher absentmindedly shushed us. “Okay, normally this would be really funny, but the fact that you are staring off into space while I make fun of you isn’t working for me.” He snapped in front of my face, “Yo pull it together dude! Why the heck do you have lipstick on your lips?” “Kelly Evans kissed me and invited me to one of Dean’s parties” I whispered. “Ha! Dude that’s a funny joke! Seriously did you and Lily FINALLY gotten together?” he said with a smile. My absent stare made his smile trail off. He fumbled for words for a second and said “Dude she’s not the most ethical of girls. You know the kind of parties she goes to man.” “What? Come on dude, this is KELLY EVANS… Things like this don’t come along every day man!!!” I said kind of defensively. “This party may be bad, but I’ll just leave man… no big!” “One thing: what about restaurant night? Dude we have always done it! It’s Lily’s turn! She only gets it every once a month! We have done this since the sixth grade man.” He stared at me for an answer. “Alright, alright. I’ll go to this party for a little while and then I’ll get my parents to come pick me up and then I’ll meet up with you guys! The restaurant night starts at seven, and this party starts at five, no problem.” He looked at me, “Alright man, I’ve trusted you before, I’ll trust you now. Just be careful there, something doesn’t feel right man.” I shrugged.
