Nothing We Can Build

Nothing We Can Build

A Poem by tim.reed

Those fabled pontifications
Clinging lifeless to their pages
Cherished high within the Canon
These soon too will be abandoned

For what value will they hold
When the skies alight with gold
All our histories will fade
With the world that once we made

Alas, nothing we can build
Will stand beyond or yield
Once the flames awaken true
This world, again, will start anew

This poem is unpolished, but I would love some feedback. Thanks!
