In the beginning, he pleaded for his life.

 

Now, he begs for his death.

 

Abraham said, "If you want to test a man's character, give him power.”

 

I say, if you want to test a man's character, give him pain.

this is been bouncing around in my head for about a week now. i tried to let it fester until i came up with more to write, but it was giving me a headache.

Wow, a great start to a damn chilling story, in fact it stands alone powerfully as is. Brilliant brevity. This hits home to me in a different way, I've been through a lot, shot, stabbed, badly beaten by theives several times, broke my back twice, I live with extreme chronic pains, but me keep a-smiling and a-moving along.
