A Poem by timothygalexander

In front of others you’ll never say my name

The mere thought of my presence brings a blackening shame

Except when we’re together, your eyes speak a different truth

But, preoccupation with yourself allows you to remain aloof

Now I may be wrong or I may be right

It doesn't change anything, and we continue out of sight

I need no one for my rescue and I need no one to blame

I only need to lean on wisdom born stubbornly from my pain
