The Fall

The Fall

This crazy velvet hell is just a corpse, a former shell;
When sunset bleeds too red for swollen eyes.
And this evening that has come is complicated and alone;
Why must I land onto my head to feel alive?
Gray satin rain envelopes truth, it's old and surely is abused;
Though it's far too often never heard at all.
When Summer bows it's tired head, when it's battered, when it's dead;
Why are the things I wish would stay the ones that fall?
Colored leaves will rustle in, along the ground, they whisper in;
A memoir of the sunny days when time was young,
Thunderstorms have come to warn, is meaning lost inside the storm?
What life can persevere when staring down a gun?
To ensure that ugly need, why don't you bring me to my knees?
Let me grovel to the ground with desperate calls;
Just to get back what I please: what makes me hurt enough to weep:
That thing to realize I was living all along...
