i just couldn't shake that feeling afterwards.

A Poem by timcampbell

aimlessly wandering the dock
the wind suddenly stopping
leaving behind still waters

engines sound noisily
boats roar past me
ripples quickly become waves

a gentle breeze caresses me
rocking me to and fro
memories of a lost childhood revealed

clouds sail across the sky
in a race to the finish
to the edge of the world

and the sun peers through the clouds
only to hide again
searching for absolution

spanish moss eats at the cypress
devours her soul
leaving his mark forever

as the water drowns the trees
suffocating them
manifesting the meaning of life

The title is impromptu. I can never find a good title for this one.
