Reflecting

Reflecting

Reflecting

Deep is the core of inner character

That we have yet to meet

And sometimes we elude it

Is it for some reason or forgotten lore?

That we choose to remember never more

Let us not tread the shallow water

For fear we may drown

In the facade of outer surroundings

when we place our feet on hollow ground

Let us not stand the inner structure

Where the foundation should be

Shatter the rock first

before it reaches the glass

For the reflection you see

Comes from within

I will now agree that the answer to our questions are only deep inside. I remember Johari's Windows. Maybe there are times that you know something that others don't know; or you don't know something that other's know; or you both know; or you both don't know.
We just need time to reflect...
Thanks for sharing.

Excellent write Mauricio. Reflective indeed. Powerful thoughts in these words. And so true. Brilliant piece of work here.

It is sometimes a very difficult thing, to look deep inside yourself. I think you've portrayed that wonderfully!

Yes I think this work has some potential. "Shatter the rock before it reaches the glass" is really powerful. I would keep tweaking this as time passes. This could be your finest work to date!

simple, yet profound. some of my favourite poems are about self-reflection, and I think you've done a great job bringing this piece together from beginning to end. I think maybe if it was structured into stanzas, it might be more fluent, but that's just my opinion. very nicely done!

I love how you move us all to consider looking deeper inside... the thoughts and reflections of a life not merely lived, but pondered with a purpose... We need to see this more...

This speaks so much honesty...I like your insight in this poem...
"Let us not tread shallow water
For fear we may drown"
Those lines were powerful, even the ending...
Great work!
