Reflecting

Reflecting

Deep is the core of inner character

That we have yet to meet

And sometimes we elude it

Is it for some reason or forgotten lore?

That we choose to remember never more

Let us not tread the shallow water

For fear we may drown

In the facade of outer surroundings

when we place our feet on hollow ground

Let us not stand the inner structure

Where the foundation should be

Shatter the rock first

before it reaches the glass

For the reflection you see

Comes from within

I will now agree that the answer to our questions are only deep inside. I remember Johari's Windows. Maybe there are times that you know something that others don't know; or you don't know something that other's know; or you both know; or you both don't know.
We just need time to reflect...

Very well done in a poetic sense. Many questions asked of the inner self. This is a gem brother:)

This was very inspiring and when reading it takes you to a place deep inside your self and the past. Really makes you think and reflect. I love this.

Sometimes we look see what's deep inside, so sure that what we find will satisfy the heart and spirit; other times we steer clear, knowing that we're not who we want to be. The core of a person is there at the start, is something to enhance or destroy. And, tis up to the individual to dissolve that rock, then dare to swim in clear unsullied water - i thi-i-ink. Your writing, like a few others the Cafe, makes a person think. However, not entirely sure whether you're talking in generalisations or far far more personally. But, no matter, you've switched on the 'think' button!

The way you write, the style, the use of words is very much your own, stay true

This is an excellent write. I would suggest writing it in paragraphs as I think it would be easier to read and flow better.

I don't think we ever forget, we choose to ignore our inner knowing but it is there and time and place often come round for it to emerge, maybe as an opportunity to learn or change, this nearly always requires heart....such is facing that we fear...this is how your most wonderful introspective poem feels to me.

The last few lines say it all...
Shatter the rock first
before it reaches the glass
For the reflection you see
Comes from within

Reflective indeed...ones self mirror...
Some reason the last few lines made me think of judge yourself before judging others...hmmm
Thought provoking
