Broken Heart

Broken Heart

A Poem by Mauricio Montoya
"

makes me think of that Earth wind and fire song "cant hide love"

"

Broke heart

Can I fix a broken heart?

How many times can I mend it?

do I even know where to start.

Scattered are the pieces,

around me.

on my knees I pick them up.

I wonder

Do i need,

to release it.

If there is no love,

Then why retrieve it.

For all and all,

maybe

I should just

leave it alone.

I like your words, friend.

I've felt this way several times, been in this position about a million times, always feeling like my heart was broken, never knowing what to do with myself and the shattered pieces of my heart circling me. Thanks for sharing this wonderful, relatable poetry!!

thanks Fran
A very beautiful, but sad at the same time. I have someone I love and he loves me; yet his friend loves me to, but I don't think I will have the same feelings of love for him as the other guy. It's heartbreaking & heart wrenching to feel this way or to have someone who doesn't return the love you want. In time will her feelings grow deeper for you, God only knows. But like you I will let the pieces lie where they fall, and hope for the best.

WOW .. SEEMS LIKE YOU WOULD HAVE YOUR HEART STOP , IF YOU DO NOT HAVE LOVE ... "SHOULD I GET ON MY KNEES TO PICK THEM" .. NO .. LOVE IS NOT WORTH BEGGING FOR .. .. OR MAYBE IT IS .. ..

JUST MY TAKE ON YOUR WORDS ... JAZZY

absolutely wonderful. I love the simplicity and the questions asked to the reader. Love is such an abstract thing that we can never know if it exists in real or not...though in our hearts it always will!

The simplicity of thoughts in a comparison to a broken heart...nice work on this expression through poetry...

Oh the ancient question that we poets try to answer and have absolutely no idea. Wonderful piece Mauricio

Aww a broken heart can almost always be mended if we want it to be and if there is enough time. It may still have a few pins holes but those are memories that we hold dear.
