Eye Level

Eye Level

A Poem by Mauricio Montoya
"

what we see

"

Eye Level

Eye in the sky, eye on the side,

Everybody  looking.

Insight Out of sight,

Always keep in mind.

What we find,

Because

It May be more than we desire.

Visionary, blind spot,

From a mirror reflection,

Leaves an opinion,

Open to interpretation

What’s lost in translation,

which is left to the beholder,

Unless we look within.

So true we need to be on he watch so we dont make bad decisions on our journy in life. It is better to make a wise decision with understanding than to be introuble because we didn't think it through with guidance from prayer and reasoning. Awesome poem i like it!

I like the phrase "visionary blind spot" also "Which is left to the beholder, unless we look within."

A word, a line, a concept phrase. Grabbing them in minds flight, capturing them to page, knowing and feeling their impact and then the enlightened moment.
I like to improvise with these things, Mauricio I think you "draw" with these elements. In all your poems, you have a strong personal voice. Keep capturing your mind's flight.

Mauricio this one can be interpeted and so many ways
For example the abject you see in your rear view mirror
may be closer than you think
Looking at the sky you may find yourself viewing something more
than just stars
In any case be careful !
I truly love this poetic view of your thoughts
Its very Philosophical
Kudos

Edited: Just my way of sounding it out. May not be what you want but it is the way I behold it in my eye... Hope it helps!

Eye in the sky.
Eye on the side.
All eyes on you.

Insight; out;
out of sight.
Always keep in mind,
what we find
may be more
than we desire.

Visionary
blind spot.
Mirrored reflection
leaves an opinion
open to interpretation.

What's lost in translation's
better left to the beholder....
least we look within.

(Mauricio... I feel it needs one more line of impact to bring it all back together... but i feel you need to be the one to decide.) Inbox me if you'd like.

Mauricio, I am hopeless with modern poetry and at 62 years of age left behind with modern poetry. Yet here I do get the point of necessary inward scrutiny, as well as looking outside and judging everything and every one else. The beat to it is like modern rap. I detest modern rap. But still this gives an old man something to ponder and learn from. I need to be more "Kool". I think!
