A Poem by Mauricio Montoya
"

life

"

Seasoned

Sometimes,

Time will encase those things that will never change.

As clouds expand to spread their tears,

So the sun can bring fourth another day.

I've reminisce these days like a stillborn seed,

So it won't, ever grow.

Only to find when night falls,

All that’s left,

Is for me to rest my soul.

Oceans waves’ crash against the cliffs,

While the moonlight breaks through the mist.

I toss and turn a dreary me, awoke, from a dream of a sweet less night.

Now that the fog has settled, should I ponder what lies in wait?

Or place my life and trust in God, as my guiding light.

Many trees stand stern from the gust of mighty winds.

Rivers flow down stream upon arriving to an open sea.

As eagles soar through the vast sky in abundant air.

These are the things

The Lord has placed

Around me.

Just as the stars above are light years away.

I am no more near to thee,

 so I pray.

I marvel at what lies before me.

As a gift of life,

for all to see.

Amen

Very spiritual, introspective write, brother. I feel the nature, the mortality of a man and his contemplation of both.

I think the last two verses of this poem are some of the strongest I have read. The whole work seems to have the rythmn of footsteps. Time on the road has distilled this work and the last two paragraphs are sweet liquer indeed!

The imagery, sounds, and nature described in this write are serene, the wondering, hesitating, and hoping are spontanious. All prayers, even the briefest, are forms of healthy and spiritual connections to Our Creator. Thanks for sharing. Keep it up.
