Skid RowA Poem by Mauricio Montoyabeing homelessSkid row
Skid row skid row where the homeless roam Rescue missions are in submission
With Three hots, and a shopping cart you know I'm on a roll Front door real state Sidewalk landscape All the comfort I appreciate A luxuries no income can compensate Start my morning early To the sound of trampling feet A rhythm I cherished dearly every day of the week Programmed social workers ask Why are we in this plight? Mindless counselors yell Come and join the fight Soup kitchen to a drop in center because I'm a penniless socialite with Jesus saves above the door how can my future get any brighter Society outlook, may never change The world owes me nothing, so who do I blame Maybe it’s my life style, I should rearrange Will it matter, i don't think in my life time it will ever change. by Mauricio Montoya
