Without World Within

Without World Within

A Poem by Mauricio Montoya
"

it how you see it

"

   Without World Within

I yearn for the world to adore me.
  Yet nothing is picture perfect.
There are times the world will smile.
While others, it won't stop crying.

I'd run and hide from my shadow.
But, its always one step behind.
As the world sleep, it fades away.
Only to return, from a different angle.

My up hill battle when I hit the ground
as I climb the ladder to reach the sky.
The silver lining throws me in the clouds.
It’s a wonder, why the world keeps me around.

Sounds like you were pretty depressed back then when you wrote it .. I know this feeling , I have gone through it time and again .

Truly inspiring. The very first line is one bold declaration although I have to admit, sometimes I wish it too. You're poem is true to life's struggle and so very honest in its claims. Seriously interesting.

Keep Writing. ^___^

Really nice look at why we exist. Especially powerful because at the time of writing life was so torrid for you. If you think and reason with work like this the world must become brighter. Good Stuff, Mauricio> I hope you meet a nice, rich, poet girl soon!

That was a good write about how we learn to adapt to a world with changing emotions and seasons. I liked it. Keep writing. Thanks for sharing.

What a beautiful poem Mauricio! I love the dreamy imagery of the clouds and how the world keeps us down. I've felt this way too. But the world continues to spin and turn with both of us smiling. Beautiful poem.

Everyone is chasing their own dreams, but at times
it's hard to lose the lingering shadow so it seems

A great piece deeply expressed and well written!!

so true; this made me think a lot and i enjoyed your insight;
made me think that we may have to see the world as what can we do to it instead of waiting for it to fall on us...
