Forgotten

Forgotten

A Poem by Mauricio Montoya

Young full.of life stars above, fireworks
Until the night forgotten
Old, TV my old lady, time
Forgetting what's forgotten.
Right or wrong, our pride
Forgotten, if only we could see.
For many names you give God
Forgotten, now only by faith
If only inside but you can't remember
Shame on you what's forgotten.
Yet I'm old can't remember,
But don't let me be forgotten
Because one day
As I get old, I forget
But you will think
Never forgetting
What you will remember
What was forgotten.
In you just a memory.

Memory is a gift, isn't it. One we take for granted until it is gone. I found your write very relatable and I found myself wanting to put that memory in a bottle. Beautiful writing.

human memory is a form of time travel. what's pst is past, but the fact we can remember it at all is pure magic. we ought to be grateful for possessing this faculty. yet it is not a perfect machine, we do tend to forget. and in that forgetting we lose a lot.
this work a sad piece, but the irst few lines gives us a bit of hope. if we can't remember everything, we can still try to hang on to happiest memories we have. and cherish them.

Lol yes thank you for dprpping.by and sharing your thoughts.
Getting old is a mixed bag....lots of memories happy and not so happy...and getting more fragile, both physically and mentally.... but we can still have some joy in life...even though we tend to repeat ourselves...aging ain't for sissies!!!

Gracias, there's always hope thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Even in old age, when we have forgotten all that we knew. There will be those who knew us who will not have forgotten what we gave to them in friendship and love.
The two most important things in life.
Nicely expressed here, Mauricio.
