Wonder lust

Wonder lust

A Poem by Mauricio Montoya

I sit on the side of a road, wondering.
A thousand efforts to rise on my feet
Its hard to take the first step
For a journey so long, no bets.
But how far can I get, if I don't stand.
Young it took miles to get old, I'm stranded.
Never to go back, move ahead.
Complicated, because there's no time left.
How with what little I got, make it more.
One day at a time, but ill lose my mind.
Because nobody can find peace in one life span.
I live to regret I'm only human, how sad..
But proud to learn I'm not perfect, still.
I run and hide to get away, but my shadow is right behind.
I think that's what's wrong, unless I look inside and see.
Then ill be free from going anywhere.

yes, once we get old, we tend to measure distance and time differently...how can we stretch our lives to make us live longer...no way...when there is no time left, then you wish you could have another life altogether: "because nobody can find peace in one lifespan".... clever!
Warmly, B
