A Poem by Mauricio Montoya

With a tear I laugh
And with a giggle I cried.
So the joke was the rise.
Funny you with the grin.
While the rest in a fround.
To come above,
Those on the ground.
King of the mound.

This was meant for those who make fun of other people just to get a laugh from the crowd. I was one of them. We need to laugh but never at a price that hurts someone else. Thank you for reaching out with your input.

Very interesting read! It seems as if this joke was made to make people happy, but it had the opposite effect. The person cried when they giggled, could be crying of joy or literal crying. Was the joke hurtful? Some people make jokes that can be rude to others. That just my interpretation of your poem!

Seems to me here that the joke wasn't appreciated by the people listening. What was intended to make them laugh, actually had the opposite effect. I guess you need to be sure of your audience when telling jokes.

Nice twist of words Mauricio. You left the reader with the question. Who was the joke? Hello my friend and thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.
