Rise to the occasion

Rise to the occasion

A Poem by Mauricio Montoya

Rise to the occasion,
A great revelation,
 how sunny and bright,
many days can be.
Palpitation skip within,
warmth all round,
fills every heart,
with every beat
A love,
no one can defeat.
A divine beauty,
our eyes,
unwilling to touch
can only see.
Yet we believe,
in birds and bees,
  milk and honey.
love and hate
that leads to war
live or die
life no more
have we  missed
 a beat
our hearts grows old,
if we don't let go,
our downfall
is a dish
we don't want cold.
All this,
 in a day dream,
while
walking down the street.

The above lines. We learn and understand. Life is a steady teacher. We do learn to appreciate the simple things. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

I've got constant all-over pain & it would be easy to fall into a pit of self-pity, complaining all the time at how s****y it feels to be in this body. But I make it a point to rise to the occasion of living, which is so well stated & encouraged in your poem! I love how you put it in simple everyday terms of what the joy of living looks like . . . no need to wait for some big splash . . . sometimes it's the small hardly-noticable stuff that makes life worth showing up for. I love this message! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
