After Today

After Today

A Poem by Mauricio Montoya
"

true friendship

"
My Dearest so strong,
yet tears will fall.
From what you feel,
how I could not see,
before my needs
until today
I could feel that pain.
The need to hug you,
with all my might
was the right move
And to hold you tight,
because your not alone,
in this plight.
remember,
To never let go
Until the dark of night,
becomes day.

Some poets write about needing someone like it's an addictive situation (which I very much dislike) and this is why I want to celebrate your poem about people needing people . . . this is what healthy needing looks like. It's not always a perfect flow, as you point out, but when two people connect, there's nothing like that boost of energy that can give the lives involved (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Emotive and expressive work you have penned in this one. Enjoyed reading it today. I hope the love affair works out. Thanks so much for dropping by and taking time to comment on my work from long ago. Sara

we need friends like this to hold us during the darkest nights...until that morning light shines
and we feel more like facing a day.

So gentle, so delicate this poem is... A hug with love can soothe a mind and a voice of assurance can do wonder... I love this poem
