Those Around Us

Those Around Us

A Poem by Mauricio Montoya
"

shared love

"
All those around me,
when i was born.
unaware because,
I was to young to remember.
who i would one day,
 later know.
To slow to understand,
That,
tough men will stand
and those, the weak,
 are always ruled.
but choose to be free,
it was the hope
you promise me,
BUT
 if only they could see.
your Love rings free,
forever.

There's something about the pacing of your poem that gave me the sensation that I was climbing a ladder up-up-up toward some bigger realization, as if you were slowly gathering steam toward your reveal at the end. Nicely done for how it makes the reader FEEL the journey you're referring to. Having been abused constantly thru my childhood years, I've always said that it was the abundance of love in my life that helped me escape severe damage (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I kept thinking about the warmth and safety of the family unit. At least mine was. There was alot of love there. I felt that in this poem. Thank you.

Love can change many things for the better and I’m not talking romantic love. If people gave more lbs in general there would be less chaos overall. That is what your last line in this poems makes me think. Great write my friend
