A Cafe

A Cafe

A Poem by Mauricio Montoya
"

coffe

"
A cafe
where i could get a coffee
6 feet away, if you want
with many pushing to say
can we get java
cause we want to play.
i wondered,
is just the coffee
or
just be a friend
near or far

I love how you show that "sharing a cup of coffee" has two aspects -- enjoying a favorite beverage & also engaging in a social ritual we know & cherish. Why not go over to a friend's house for a cup, instead of trying to social-distance in a crowd? (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I think the new
rule of thumb
is 3 ft away now
for social distancing
still not close enough
to suit me

conversation and coffee
just seem to go
together ..always
nice to chat over coffee

Yeah, the virus has created loneliness and too much isolation. People just want peace and normalcy. And to see others too.

Good poem.
