I think millions are feeling lost these days and have for months, Mauricio. Not everyone knows what its like to fight for every breath of air, or scrap of bread or.. the right for shelter. But many are now realising that we are all liable to fall. Survival needs selflessness.. helping and sharing more than ever before. Do what is right.. trust, be patient and.. love.. each.. other.
Your words hit home with incredible force.. yet are fragile feelings put to more than special poetry.
' do you have enough to fight .. and with god .. does he give us light .. in dreams .. '

thank you Emma we need strength and hope to get through all this.
Since I am familiar with the down-and-out aspects of living in Oakland (grew up in the Bay Area), I'm reading this as the mind flow of some youth stuck in a place where there's just as much good as bad, where it's hard to know which way to turn. I love how you show the pulling from different sides of life with a nice balance of realistic life details & poetic imagery. You make the struggle & uncertainty sound uniquely poetic (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I do believe we decide our journey Mauricio. Light or darkness, love or not. Kindness or pain. Outstanding poetry. You made the reader think and ponder.

Mauricio this poem asks the reader to consider, to take inventory of themselves and their surroundings and asks where true power rests. I read this more than once, the message gets clearer each time, and I think that's where the strength of this poem is. Heart felt write.
