amor

amor

A Poem by Mauricio Montoya
"

love and hate

"
How is love
so simple
 yet it becomes hate
if all is fair in war
 a heart torn
can never  be mend
if eye to eye
we see
brought in love
to believe
we must resolve
what makes us one
 otherwise
we're alone
in the end

In some great book written. It said. "The gods always win. We will be alone and we will die alone."
"we must resolve
what makes us one
otherwise
we're alone
in the end"
The above lines solid and true Mauricio. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

To me, your poem harkens to the reality that we can't engage in war-like behavior with loved ones & then turn right around & expect that person to act like everything is lovey-dovey fine. People always remember how you make them feel, as Maya Angelou wisely counseled (((HUGS))) fondly, Margie

Poignant poetry here. Thoughts that most people will identify with - I certainly do. Also reminds me of the Ballad of Reading Gaol "each man kills the thing he loves, the coward does it with a kiss, the brave man with a sword" (I may have slightly misquoted, but the gist is there).

I think the resolve needed to see "what makes us one" is the resolve to have compassion for each other and to know that each arrow fired in the war comes from a place of woundedness in the other. There can only be a war if I think you are my enemy, not if I see your act of aggression as the act of a hurt child (and vice versa!).

No problem :)
In short, love overcomes all obstacles if it is allowed to. But I like the way you put it better Mauricio.

well buddy, what can we say in the end, it is what it is.lol.
The message is loud and clear. Love can heal and unite. Hate can sicken and destroy. We have diplomacy and solving our issues before others. Put our house in order before we reach our to others. Simple poem but excellent.

if only love could be so simple, Thank you for the input
if more people would work at resolving problems in their relationships...more of them would last.
a couple won't always see eye to eye on certain things, but if they see eye to eye
to working on resolving, then they have something.
nice write.
