Chapter 2: Triggers P.A. & F. School

Chapter 2: Triggers P.A. & F. School

A Chapter by Lyghea

Rachel, Katy, and Eric all looked around and saw people playing instruments, people with video cameras and light equipment. Their jaws dropped and they stood there as a few kids walked over introduced themselves and chatted for a bit. "Hey. I'm Fletcher Pikks. You the three scholars we were told about, right?" Fletcher was a black haired, spring colored eyes, and a semi-tall boy. Katy thought he was a bit weird, though. "I'm Rachel Kilo. These are my best friends Eric Myan and Katy Regs. We're from Wilxon High. How'd you get in? Like, what do you do," Rachel questioned after introducing themselves. "I'm a scholar. Junior year. Last year I was recognized by this school after doing a theatre play at my old school and then editing the film to put it all together," Fletched humbly said. "That's really cool," Eric blared out. Rachel and Katy nodded. "So you're Katy. The girl all the teachers wanted. What do you do," Fletcher questioned. "I sing... And dance." Katy looked rather shy. Rachel pulled Katy aside for a minute as Eric and Fletcher continued to talk. "What's wrong? Why are you being so shy all of a sudden. You were never like this before," Rachel worriedly said. Katy shrugged her shoulders. Rachel smiled. "I... Kinda like him. Like, I don't really like Eric anymore and Fletcher is so nice and such and," Katy sighed as Rachel began to talk. "Be friends with him. He's really nice and Eric still likes me, so why not?" Rachel had a big smile on her face as she pushed Katy to talk to Fletcher. Rachel stood next to Eric as Eric looked at her sweetly.
"Ummm... Hey," Katy started. "Hi." "What classes can we take here?" "Well," Fletcher started. "We have all the normal classes a normal high school has... We take those classes every Thursday and Wednesday. Each of the classes are about an hour to an hour and a half long." "Woah... What about all the other days? The days where we don't have "normal classes"," Katy said putting quotes around 'normal classes'. Fletcher giggled then continued onward, "ha... Actually we have instrumental classes, vocal classes, harmony, dance, jazz, lyrical, and dutes classes. For film makers, we have screen, edits, SEC, direction, angle, and FOP." "What are dutes classes," Katy asked clearly clueless. "It a class where if you like to sing duets or with more than 2 people," Fletcher said. The bell rang. "Here, lemme help you with picking your classes." "Thanks," Katy said as she walked side-by-side with Fletcher as he kept sweeping his hand across hers. Rachel and Eric followed closely behind, Eric doing the same thing to Rachel as Fletcher was doing to Katy. "Here. So you're a singer, right," Fletcher asked. Katy nodded. "And dancer, too," Katy finished. Fletcher's eyes widened. "Okay then," Fletcher began, "what about you, Rachel? Eric?" "I'm a singer and I'm a sports player," Rachel said hoping there to be a volleyball and basketball team. "I want a scholarship." Fletcher nodded. "Eric?" "Filmer." Fletcher got a glow in his eyes. "How many classes can we take," Eric and Rachel asked simultaneously. "If you're doing ABC, then like 7 or 8. If you're doing AB, then 4 or 5. I suggest AB more than ABC because AB is a lot less confusing and it helps you focus on what you really want to do. Rachel, we do have a sports team. We have all sorts of sports and clubs for you guys to join. Some teachers give you extra credit or more time in project and homework if you're in a specific club or sports team. Here's the paper, fill it out and give it to the Councilor and then all you gotta do is find your 2nd period class. Good luck!" Fletcher finally stopped talking. Katy gave a half smile. Fletcher left.
"Here," Rachel said passing 2 sheets of paper to Eric and Katy along with a pen. When they were done filling out their sheets, they gave it to their Councilor like Fletcher said to do so. "So what classes are you guys taking," Eric asked while they were waiting for their schedules. "I'm taking lyrical, dutes, and vocal... I'm also taking a dance class or two just to kinda spark up my singing," Rachel said as she leaned her head on Eric's shoulder. "I'm doing all," Katy said obviously not caring what the others would think. Rachel and Eric nodded. "What about you," Katy asked Eric curiously. "SEC, FOP, directions, and edits are the classes I'm taking." Rachel an Katy both nodded interestingly at each other. "Here you go," said the Councilor handing Rachel, Eric, and Katy their schedules. "See you guys in 5th period," Rachel yelled down the hall as they bell rang and they three of them split up. Eric went to SEC, Katy went to jazz, and Rachel went to lyrical. When lunch came, Eric sat by Rachel and some SEC and FOP classmates. Katy sat by her jazz class. Fletcher soon caught up with Katy. "I'm waiting to see how long it is until Fletcher asks her out already," Rachel tells Eric. Eric raised his eyebrows in agreement. "I was thinking," Eric started. "Yeah..?" Rachel asked back unaware of what was next. "Maybe we should... Go out sometime? And I could also help you with your dancing and singing and sports. I was told by Mr. Tylip that I need to make an original film about a student and what they do and stuff like that. "Okay," Rachel said giving a big smile. "Is Mr. Tylip SEC teacher or your FOP teacher," Rachel asked. "FOP," Eric sighed as if it were a big project. "Mrs. Killicks said that for her edits class I could use the same film from my FOP class, though!" Eric was smiling and looked happier than anyone has ever seen him in a while. Rachel smiled as she thought about their private lessons and date.
Rachel and Eric plan for their date on Saturday, after Rachel's first basketball game. They had private lessons on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday after school in the theatrical house. Katy and Rachel haven't talked since Tuesday, when they first arrived at the school last week. It was Monday when Katy came up to Rachel during their free period. "What's up Rach," Katy asked put her fist up hoping for a fist bump. Rachel acknowledged and went ahead. "Nothing. Just working on my Lyrical homework. What about you," Rachel asked back as she took out her Lyrical notebook and started her homework as she put her cell phone on the table. "Choreographing a dance for my Dance class and it's also an assignment for the dutes class." Rachel nodded. "I heard from Fletcher you were dating Eric. Is that true?" Rachel shook her head. "He asked me out... Hoping for a date on Saturday," Rachel finished trying not to give away any hints. "Oh. Okay," Katy sighed. "So how are you and Fletcher going?" Katy shrugged her shoulders. Rachel gave Katy a puzzled look. "What's wrong...," Rachel questioned. Katy shook her head. "Don't worry about it...," Katy answered back. "Eric?!" Katy nodded. "Oh," Rachel retorted. "I'm just glad you aren't dating him... And are just friends. It means a lot to me," Katy affectionately added. "Yeah...," Rachel said after a small pause. "I gotta get back to vocal. I'll see you later," Katy left. Rachel nodded. As Katy became more and more distant, Rachel started to tear up. Eric walked by and kissed Rachel. Rachel pulled away. "We can't do this," Rachel whispered. "Katy? Really," Eric asked unpleasing. "Not just that. I have a secret," Rachel finished as she let go of Eric and walked away. Rachel wasn't seen or heard of by anyone in a week... And no one knows where she is.
