*Emma wakes up at 6:30a and eats breakfast. She finishes and finds her mom on the staircase with a worried look on her face*

Mom: Emma, I'm afraid I've kept a big secret from you. I think you deserve to know it before it eats me away. I'm pretty sure you old enough to understand

Emma: What?

Mom: You have a twin. You have a twin brother. I just got a call from your birth father asking if I knew where he was because he disappeared. We don't know where he is now.

* Emma couldn't believe she had a twin brother. She looked at her mother, and then headed toward the door. She started walking to school.  She arrived at school in about 15 minutes. She walked through the doors and searched for her class. She sat down. School was a painful 7 1/2 hours. When she got home, she walked through the door, threw her backpack down and ran upstairs to her room. She grabbed her extra backpack and put an extra pair of clothes, a canteen of water, and her wallet with her ID in it, and then she went downstairs to put some food in. She started for the door. Her mother stopped her.*

Mom: And where do you think you're going Emma Rossell?

Emma: I-I-I…I'm going to a friend's house for the night. It's Friday. We don't have school tomorrow.

Mom: Fine. Bring your phone with you just in case you need me!

Emma: I already have my phone and IPod and everything else that I wanted or I needed.

*Emma walks out of the door. She looked back making sure her mom wasn't watching her. She walked down the street  Emma pulled out her cell phone with her birth father's cell number which she took off the home phone. She dialed the number on her way. Her dad picked up the phone.*

Emma: Hello? Dad? It's me Emma!

Dad: Emma? Is it really you?

Emma:  Daddy? I need to know where you are! I'm coming to you. I want to help you find my twin!

Dad: Baby girl. I live too far. Is your mother with you? Does she know you want to come?

Emma: Well, no she doesn't know. Please don't tell her! Daddy, I want to be with you. I'm traveling by foot! Daddy, please!

Dad: You know where Mount Ressolover is, right?

Emma: Yeah. Meet at the coffee shop on Rossell Drive?

Dad: Yes. Meet me there in 2 days.

*He hung up and Emma starts walking. She stopped at a coffee shop on the way and got coffee so she could continuing walking, and get there in the 2 days she had. She saw someone in the forest. Aquila. She looked at the Aquila. He was her age. Aquila is alone. He had a backpack, just like her. She went up to Aquila. He had beautiful ocean blue eyes, shaggy blonde hair, and he was skinny*

          Emma: Where are you headed?

Aquila: I'm on my way to find my twin sister. My dad told me I had a long lost sister. It was my destiny to find her.

Emma: I'm looking for my long lost twin. My birth dad called saying he lost his son, who was my twin. You look just like me.

*Aquila sits on the log behind him. He smiles. He gets up and then he hugs Emma*

Emma: You're my brother. My twin brother!

          *Aquila nods*

Aquila: Yes. And you must be Emma. My name is Aquila.

Emma: What is an Aquila? Sorry if I'm being mean. Like, what or gin is it from and what is its meaning?

Aquila: Aquila, my name, is from Latin and it means Like an Eagle. How about you?

Emma: Emma, my name, is from Teutonic, and it means Healer of the Universe.

          Aquila: That's so cool!

Emma:  You're name is pretty cool, too. It's unique. We should head back to dads. I'm supposed to meet him at the coffee shop in Mount Ressolover. You show me the way?

Aquila: Sure. And your mom knows where you're going, right?

Emma: Well, not exactly. She thinks I'm at my friend’s house. She thinks...well expects me home sometime today. But, I'll call her when I get to Mount Ressolover.

*Aquila nods and Emma decides to call her father to let him know she found Aquila*

          Emma: Hello? Daddy?

Dad: Emma? Oh my God! I thought you were lost. Tell me you're not lost! Where are you? I need to find you...I have to find Aquila!

Emma: Dad! I'm not lost. I'm on Elmhurst Street just south of Portland. I found Aquila. He's here, daddy. He's really here.

*Emma begins to cry softly to herself with tears of joy*

Dad: Okay, sweetheart, Aquila is okay...right? And continue your way to Mount Ressolover. It will take me another day. And Emma, please call your mother and tell her where you are. Tell her the story. The whole story.

Emma: Alrighty daddy. I will. And Aquila is fine. He was about twenty miles south of where we are now. He was looking for me, like I was looking for him. He's helping me on my way. He's the best brother.

Dad: Just please be careful. And keep an eye on Aquila. He's blind, so he'll need extra help.

Emma: He is? Well, either way, I should be get going. We have a long way to Mount Ressolover. And then to Rossell Drive. Chao!

*Emma hangs up her phone. Next Emma called their mom*

          Mom: Hello?

Emma: Hey mom! It's me, Emma! Uh...yeah. I won't be home for a few days.

Mom: Why not, Emma Rossell? Where you not at your friend's house?!

Emma: Well…I went out to find my twin. Aquila. He's blind, and he needed help. His sister's help. Dad said he'll be going to Mount Ressolover. We'' all be meeting at the coffee shop on Rossell Drive. Aquila and I are going there. Mom, I know where it is. It was named after grandpa died, after showing mercy to those bad people, and saved the thousands of troops that he would have lost if he didn't. Mom, I swear I'm fine.

Mom: Fine. But God help you because when you get...

*Emma hangs up mid-sentence. Later that night " Emma and Aquila set up their tent and fall asleep*

Emma: Daddy said you were blind. Is that true?

Aquila: Yeah. I'm afraid so. I lost them, fighting for my country. They were completely shot out. Doctors put in these fake ones so that I didn't feel as misplaced as I would have been without them.

Emma: What were you doing that got them shot out?

Aquila: I use to serve for the Navy. Emma, I'm afraid that's all I can tell you. I awake you at 6:30, no 7:00 tomorrow morning so we can finish our way to Rossell. Okay? Good-night.

          Emma: Good-night, Aquila.

*Emma and Aquila fall asleep under the stars. The awake to a thunderstorm. A bad thunder storm. Lightning was striking everywhere. The wind was harsh and streets were unknown. Emma can’t tell where she is. And she didn’t have a GPS in her phone, so they were lost. Lost. She starts to tear up; trying to hide the fact she wanted to cry. Aquila gives Emma a big hug. Emma phones ring*

          Emma: Hello?

Mom: Emma? Oh my God. Thank you Lord for keeping her safe. Are you alright? I heard there was an earthquake where you and Aquila were estimated to be? How bad is it?

Emma: I don't know. And I and Aquila just finished packing when it hit. All I remember is we settled down in a forest around 11:30 last night. We were about 20 yards from Kingston Way. Do you have a GPS; text me from your phone where we have to go. We need mileages and ways. All street signs are unreadable. Mom, please?!

Mom: Baby girl, don't cry. I have the GPS. I'll get my phone and text you the details. Don't cry. As long as you and Aquila are safe, that's all I care about.

          Emma: Thank You.

*Emma hangs up. 5 minutes later she gets a text saying the location and coordinates*

Emma: We have to head north, for about 10 miles until we hit Universe Drive, and then we make a right. 20 miles then we turn left, and then right, then left, and then left again. Then another 15 and we have to turn three rights, go straight one block, then turn left. We should be there in about 8 hours. If we don't stop.

Aquila: Alrighty then. Emma, you'll have to lead me along the way. With me being blind, and that terrible thunderstorm that just struck, I'm afraid I have no idea what will be in my way now.

Emma: Okay. Here, take my hand. I will tell you when to step over something and stuff like that. Come on. We have a long day ahead of us.

*Emma grabs Aquila’s hand and they start walking*

          Emma: What's wrong, daddy?

Dad: That's...That's...not Aquila. Not my Aquila. That's Aquila’s best friend.

*Emma stood there in shock before she spoke*

Emma: Then, where is my brother?

Aquila: Aquila, you brother, is with us. The whole time he was with us.

*Aquila starts to tear up*

          Emma: You mean…He died?

*Emma begins to get teary*

Aquila: I'm sorry. For both of you.

Emma: Why did you have to lie?! It didn't help any of us. I hate you! I thought if you weren't my brother, and you're just some boy I found, that I would have fallen' in love with you. Guess I was wrong. Good thing I didn't because I hate liars!

*Emma storms off outside of the coffee shop and sits on the edge of the curb*

Dad: What happened? I saw him three days ago…

Aquila: Well, sir, he died at war. He went back to the military today. I was the first one to hear about it because I have connections. I use to be in the Navy, you see, and I lost my eyes that way. My name is also Aquila.

*Emma's dad starts to think heavily as he starts crying, too*

Aquila: I know you have every right to be mad at me. And I don't expect you to say anything, but to just look at me.

*Aquila, outing his hand underneath Emma's chin and turning her head*

Aquila: I'm sorry I lied. I didn't want you to leave me. I want you. I want to be with you. Despite what happened. Your real brother, who's blind, and whose name is Aquila also, he died a day after you set out to find him. He died saving and protecting our country. Protecting you.

Emma: it’s okay. I over reacted. I guess I was happy to have another sibling. But, I admit, brother or not, I started falling for you anyways.

*Emma is being held tight in Aquila’s arm still crying softly. Then Emma's dad came out and said it was time to go home.*

THE END
