Chapter 7: Adam's Call For Help

A Chapter by Lyghea
"

Alps and Renders family decide to move and live together (they are good friends). Luke is asked to move in with them and does so. They get into a car crash and Adam's life is on the line.

"

"How'd you find this?" Adam signed Destiny in awe. "I looked." She looked over, then back at her leg. She was staring at her new brace that she had to wear. "I'm sorry," Adam put forward. "Not your fault," she replied back. Destiny's phone started buzzing. Destiny felt it as she saw the blinking. She answered the phone; a man came on the screen translating her calls for her. "Time to come back. The Alps and Renders family have wonderful news," called Adam's cousin, Ben. "Okay. We'll be there in 5-10 minutes," Destiny spoke back. Adam and Destiny raced back to the house in a matter of minutes. "Sit on the couch." Mrs. Renders spoke to us as she gestured us to sit on the love seat. "We're moving," Mrs. Renders spoke excitedly as she looked at Adam and made eye contact for a second or two. "What about Destiny? What about here, family, the Alps family," Adam started questioning everything to make sure he and Destiny 'could remain' together. "We found a beautiful place down in Florida. The Alps and Renders will be staying together!" Mrs. Renders rejoiced and she skipped up and down the hall-ways. Destiny and Adam looked at each other before they burst out laughing. "What family members are going," Adam asked curiously. "Just us, the Renders, and your cousin Ben, and Destiny's cousin, Bella," Mrs. Alps told Adam as she signed it to Destiny. Adam looked at Destiny and have her a big hug.

"You have to start packing right away. We have a week," Ben said as he looked at Mrs. Renders making sure he said it right. "Okay! We'll start as soon as we can," Adam said. "What about Luke, though," Adam added, "Ummm...," Mrs. Renders paused and looked over at Mrs. Alps before she started walking. They started whispering something. Destiny saw her mom nod yes and then smile at Adam. "He can live with us, if you want him too - "Mrs. Renders told Adam. Adam was over joyed. He asked Destiny if it was okay with her first. Destiny smiled and nodded happily for she'd have both of her best friends with her at that point. Destiny and Adam race to get packed. It only took them about 4 hours, so they were back outside by nightfall. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" Destiny signed back saying, "especially with the way the moon flows down through the water and openings above." Adam smiled at her. Destiny put her head on his shoulder. Beep! Beep! Beep! Adam's phone went off. "Hello," Adam answered questionably. "Dinner. Let's go." "Okay," Adam responded to Mrs. Alps before he shut his phone. "Dinner," Adam signed Destiny as he stood up and took ahold of her hand. Destiny grinned as she followed Adam back to the house. "It looks so empty," Destiny spoke out for the first time since the accident. Adam nodded.

At the dinner table, Mrs. Alps started talking to everyone while singing to Destiny. "Destiny, we have a solution for you. The doctor said it'll be the best solution since you've recovered quite strongly after the accident. You can get choclear implants if you would like." Destiny's jaw dropped. "What about hearing aids? Could I hear things then if people talked loud enough? I don't like choclear implants and I don't want 'em." "Choclear's are you only option. Dr. said it isn't gonna help anything if you just use hearing aids," Mrs. Alps replied back confused. "Then no. I'll stay the way I am. No questioning, please," Destiny told her mom firmly as she put her green and blue checkered napkin on the table and walked back outside. Adam did the same and knew exactly where she was going to go. Meanwhile, back at the table, Mrs. Alps told Mrs. Renders another possibility that the docotr said could happen. "She could naturally get her hearing back. The doctor said a few weeks and she should have her hearing back if she's ever gonna get it back." "How is that possible," Mrs. Renders questioned. "I dunno. I'm hoping that happens. For the kid's sake," Mrs. Alps worriedly sighed as she saw Adam chasing after Destiny as she ran faster and faster.

Destiny reached her favorite place. Adam caught up to her. "Please!" Adam was shouting to her, not signing. "We've been through everything together so far! I don't want to see you throw it all away! Destiny," Adam shouted. Destiny ears popped. "I love you!" Destiny could hear again. "Adam," Destiny softly spoke. "My hearing... it's back." Adam grinned then kissed her. Destiny rejoiced. "Now... Now we can be together." Destiny sat down as she softly cried. Adam gave her a hug. "Come on. It's already 10:30 PM. We have to ask Luke if he wants to stay with us and we are going to start moving some stuff," Adam said trying to brighten up the mood. "Okay," Destiny anxiously said wanting to talk to Luke. Adam and Destiny reached the house in a matter of minutes. They started calling Luke. "Hello," Luke answered the phone. "Hey, Luke!! It's me Adam," Adam continued. "Oh! Hey, Adam. What's up? How's Destiny doing," Luke questionably asked. "She got her hearing back. I have a question for you though," Adam proceeded forward. "Shoot," Luke said suspiciously. "Mine and Destin'y family are moving...," Adam started. "And...? What about us," Luke put out before Adam could finish. "Well, we were wondering if you wanted to come and live with us," Adam finished. "Yes! I would love that," Luke shouted loud enough for Destiny to hear. "I have to ask my mom first," Luke said whispering quietly with suspicion because he had the feeling someone was listening to them. Luke's mom knocked on the door and walked in. "Yes," Luke's mom answered. "For real?" She nodded. "Pack! You've got 3 days," Adam and Desitny yelled.

Luke started packing immediatley. The next day, Destiny and Adam woke up at their alarms ringing. It was 7:30 AM. They got changed and raced downstairs. They had their leftover pancakes from the day before. They ate then washed the dishes as that was the last they had to pack. They packed their bags in the car and headed to their "Movers Trucks." "Wait," Destiny shouted. Adam stood there confused. Destiny ran back to the house while Adam followed closely behind. Destiny took the small box that covered the hole in the wall carefully out as she dug her hand into the hole. "What's that," Adam curiously asked. "Like, how'd you get it," Adam added. "I have some connections." Destiny handed Adam the rest of the scrapbook. It contained pictures of them, drawings, and everything they'v done together. It even included their first kiss. "Adam! Destiny! Come on! We got to go! We'll be back tomorrow to get Luke," Mrs. Alps called from outside. Destiny let a single tear drip down her pale cheek as Adam held her tightly. "Here was our first, now it's our last." Destiny looked confused. "Our first one here, so it should be the last in the exact spot," Adam finished. Destiny smiled as her ocean blue eyes were glowing from the sun's rays. They walked to Destiny's room. "Here," Adam mumbled. Destiny ssilently smiled as she took a long blink. Adam placed his hands on her hips as Destiny placed her hands around Adam's neck. Adam leaned in and was about to kiss her.

"Come on you two," Ben shouted as he was just about to walk in the door. "Gimmie a minute, I forgot to grab something. Be down in 2" Adam shouted back as Destiny stood in her same spot as still as ever her heart beating perfusily. Ben scattered to the bottom of the stairs. Destiny groaned. "What's wrong," Adam worriedly asked."My leg... it's hurting...," Destiny complained. "I got you. There are no worries when I'm with you... there'll never be any," Adam assured Destiny as he kissed her. Adam ran downstairs and grabbed Destiny's wheelchair. "Here," Adam said as he gestured her to sit down. Destiny shook her head. "Yes. It's hurting, come on," Adam tried persuaying Destiny. Destiny refused as she limped down the creeking old stairs and practically crawled out the door to the car. "Here, take these Destiny." Mrs. Alps handed Destiny some prescribed medicine for her leg. "Thanks, mom." Destiny took the medicine. Adam folded up the wheelchair and put it back in the car. He called Hope over. "Hope, come here girl!" Adam picked up the little puppy and placed her on Destiny's lap. "We'll enroll both of you next Monday at your new school," Mrs. Renders told Destiny and Adam as the started on the road. Destiny and Adam nodded in agreement. "This is going to be another new adventure for the both of us...," Adam told Destiny as he put his arm around her shoulder. "It's going to be a long ride," Destiny softly spoke to Adam as she put her head in her shoulder, yawned, then fell asleep on the ride there. "We're here!" Destiny awoke at the sound of Ben and Bella yelling as they charged for the house. "Destiny and Adam get dibs before you two! Remember that," Mrs. Renders shouted to the two little kids running like they're pumped on sugar.

Adam and Destiny went inside the giant, mini-mansion house that was now theirs. Adam and Destiny chose the 3 rooms in the basement for them and Luke. Destiny and Adam brought down their desks, drawers, beds, and everything else in a matter of 3 hours. It was about midnight by the time they finished they got unpacked and settled. Mrs. Alps came down. "We'll leave at  8:30 so we can getLuke and all he needs and hopefully be back here by 9 PM. Okay," Mrs. Alps asked sort of demandingly. "Okay," Destiny and Adam aknowledge simultaniously. Mrs. Alps left and was upstiars. "Quick! Put in the movie," Destiny shouted to Adam. They were going to watch a movie as they hung out together. "I'm going... chill out, Destiny! It's fine. We have time and I have our sensors on," Adam assured Destiny. They set up sensors so they knew when someone was coming so they Adam had exactly 3 minutes to shut everything off, have Destiny back in her room, then pretend to be asleep. They did so with only once, and it was just Bella sleepwalking again. The next morning Adam and Destiny woke up. Destiny was in Adam's bed while Adam was next to her, where she fell asleep in her arms. They hurried upstiars and ate breakfast. They left at 8:20 AM. "How'd you guys sleep," Mrs. Renders asked as they were about an hour on the road. "Weird," Destiny said as she cocked her head to the side. "Adam," she asked. "He's asleep," Destiny told Mrs. Renders. "Oh. Well, it has been a busy day yesterday. Sweetheart, just fall asleep and I'll get the both of you up when we get there," Mrs. Renders kindly offered to Destiny. Destiny smiled and looked at the open area before she finally fell asleep. Adam woke up and started stroking Destiny's hair when they just got into their old town.

Destiny woke up. "We're almost there," Adam whispered. Mrs. Renders peered over her shoulder. "Oh, good! You're both awake," Mrs. Renders was just beginning, "we're here. Let's go... we want to be back in 6 hours," Mrs. Renders finished as she parked and turn the car off. She charged out and started for the door. Adam got out and opened the door for Destiny. "Here, please." "Okay," Destiny accepted Adam's plead to use her wheelchair. "Adam! Destiny," Luke shouted as her ran out the door to give them a hug. "Glad to see you're doing better," Luke kindly and sweetly told Destiny. Destiny smiled. "I just have my bed, desk, drawer, tv, clothes, and some collectables and other hobbie related interests," notified Luke while he smiled with his cutest dimples. Destiny carried to light weighted stuff as Luke and Adam carried the heavy things. Everything was packed within a half hour. Luke climed into the front seat with Ben, Adam, and Destiny in the back. Adam was in the middle, Desriny behind the passenger and Ben behind the driver. Mrs. Kerks, Luke's mom, spoke to Mrs. Renders. "Here's $10,000 for the first few months. I'll send child support," Mrs. Kerks made known to Mrs. Renders. "No need, $10,000 every 6 months should be fine," Mrs. Renders kindly accepted the money as she huged Mrs. Kerks. "Good-bye. We'll visit," Mrs. Kerks spoke. She poked her head through the window. "If you ever get homesick, just call and I'll come and get you," Mrs. Kerks whispered to Luke. "Lukey! Imma miss you," Luke's little sister, Alana, shouted to Luke. Luke stepped out of the car and gave her a hug good-bye. They started on their way. 30 minutes away from the house, the get into a car crash... Adam was directly centered at the glass's pointings and was hit. Paramendics said it'd be a miracle if Adam lived.
