Chapter 4: Trouble Strikes DestinyA Chapter by LygheaDestiny and Adam get into trouble at school, but that's not the only place they run into trouble...Destiny rode the bus to school the next morning. When she got in, she unpacked and wondered around the halls. She ran into Adam as she was thinking about their conversation from yesterday. She hardly noticed it was him until she heard his voice. "Hey there," Adam spoke quite loudly as he passed by her ear. Destiny stopped immeidately in her tracks and turned around. She smiled and bit her lip as she saw Adam standing there smiling with his daggering blue eyes. "Hey Adam," Destiny managed to say. "I need to talk to you later. At lunch," Adam added. "Ummm...okay? Is it bad," Destiny asked a little concerned. "No! Not at all...I promise," Adam assured Destiny. They walked past each other as Adam brushed her shoulder. Destiny walked toher Liturature class and almost zoned out trying to figure out what Adam wanted to talk to her about at lunch.
"Hey," Adam called out as he started towards Destiny. Adam sat down next to Destiny before she could respond to his calling. "Hi. What's up? What did you want to tell me earlier," Destiny frequesntly asked about 5 or 6 times before Adam finally got her to calm down enough for him to answer. "Want to some to my house this weekend? I live by some pretty cool places and my family wanted to meet you since I umm...," Adam paused before whispering, "always talk about you and all." Destiny's jaw dropped in a smiling matter. She was excited. "I'd love that. Saturday or Sunday," Destiny asked. "Friday night, then you'd spend the night in the guest house. That okay," Adam asked with a bit of fear on his mind that she wouldn't want to anymore. "You can ride with us - it's about 2 1/2 hours away. Talk to your parents and please let me know," Adam added. "I'd love that. I'll talk to them tonight and get back to you tomorrow. Kay," Destiny proclaimed. "Good," Adam said as he put the piece of loose hair behind her ear.
Destiny and Adam were dimissed for recess. They walked out together and sat at one of the benches near the back of the playground. They were looking at a notebook which was full of ideas for this weekend and the project they had due for Liturature in 2 weeks and they were almost done. Destiny was writing down the last thing they need for their project when Adam started to lightly touch her hand. Destiny froze for a split second. "So, do you have like a cabin up in Michigan - or...," Destiny asked trying to make it less awk. "Sorta. We have a house, with a small cabin in the backyard for guests. Here," Adam said as he took the notebook and flipped the page. He grabbed Destiny's hand and used her hand to hold the pencil as he moved her hand to create the picture. Destiny looked at him while he drew with her hand. Adam finished and Destiny sat there in amazement.
"This is what it looks like," Adam whispered softly into her ear. "It's beautiful," Destiny gasped as she studied the picture. The recess bell rang and Adam grabbed her hand fully and they ran into the school - they were late as it was already. Adam and Destiny both ran to their lockers together (they were right next to each other) and grabbed their books. Adam kissed Destiny on the cheek after giving her a hug. They didn't notice the biology teacher was standing right there. The raced off to their class as the biology teacher crept out of sight before they saw him. Adam went to Liturature as Destiny went to History. They didn't know they'd be in trouble. They both got demerits from being late to class, and then the speaker went on. "Destiny Alps and Adam Renders please come to the principle's office! Thank you." Destiny and Adam both got up and walked to the principle's office and anxiously sat down with fear of the worse.
They waited about 10 minutes before the principle finally spoke to them. "Do you two not know the rules," Mrs. Kippole, the principle, yelled. "No affection in school and absolutley no tolerance for being late! Unacceptable." She yelled even louder this time. Destiny and Adam looked at each other, looked back at Mrs. Kippole, then back at each other and burst out laughing. The principle tried looking mad at them but couldn't help but laugh with them, too. "Does...haha...that mean we are...ha...off the hook," Destiny managed to spit out laughing between some words. "This is both of your first infractions...you guys have straight A's since 4th grade for both of you and you guys look so cute together. So...yeah, I guess," Mrs. Kippole said making the moment awkward between Destiny and Adam. "You're dismissed. Not get back to class, and don't tell anyone about this. If they ask - you got detention. Got it," Mrs. Kippole explained making sure it didn't sound like she was trying to play favorites. "Got it, Mrs. Kippole. Thanks!" Destiny and Adam shouted back simultaniously as they rushed back to their class.
Destiny asked her mom that night if she could go to the cabin to spend the weekend with Adam. Her mom gave her the okay and she was overwhelmed and so was Adam. He spun her around when she told him and then Adam gave Destiny the biggest hug he could. When they went to the cabin, Destiny couldn't believe it. "So, what time do you usually get up in the morning," Destiny asked not wanting to be really awkward and creepy for them. "About 5:30 AM to see the sunrise. Why," Adam proposed while smiling at her. "Oh. I wanna know when we'd have free time to be by ourselves. That's all," Destiny accepted back. "Come on. I want to show you something; a place where we can always be alone and have peace and comfort with each other," Adam applied while grabbing Destiny's hand. She followed him into a forest; a lake, very beautiful and scenic. Destiny's was past awe at that moment. "Do you come here often," Destiny asked as see scattered over the lake to see if she could spot anything as pretty as the scene was already in front of her. "Often enough to do this," Adam said as he leaned in closer. They were sitting on a tree - the top of a tree - while Destiny held onto the rope right by them. Destiny was ready to kiss him when he suddenly pushed her into the lake.
"AHHHHH! Adam Renders! You're gonna get it," Destiny jokingly shouted up to Adam. Adam stood up to jump off the branch when the branch cracked and fell into the water. Destiny was right underneath. Adam squealed and looked around for Destiny. He knew she was either crushed or unconscience at the moment. He was hoping neither, but if one - he rather have her be unconscience than dead. He didn't know what to do. He of the water grabbed her phone and called 911. "911. What's your emergancy?" "I'm in the West Forest Pine Trail Way right off of Gillis in Plankster! My friend Destiny was crushed by a tree and I can't find her in the lake! Help please Help," Adam pleaded. "Sir, we need you to calm down. Rescue team and abulance is on the way. Please hold tight. We'll be there as soon as we can." The speaker waited for Adam to reply "Thank you," before hanging up. Adam said as they thought and hung up the phone. They found Destiny in about 30 minutes and addmitted her to the hospital. The news Adam heard were unbareable. Destiny was in grave danger. © 2011 Lyghea |
