Chapter 3: Adam and Destiny Talk

Chapter 3: Adam and Destiny Talk

A Chapter by Lyghea
"

Adam and Destiny finally start talking to each other - Adam said some mean things to Destiny, and Adams learns about Destiny and everything.

"

Destiny emailed Adam a few more times over the summer, and she got no response. She found out that Adam called Jessie and Annie after she left and started asking questions and everything. Adam called Destiny just to tell her he thinks she's mean and weird. Destiny was no weirder than Adam was. Destiny waited throughout the whole summer seeing if Adam would respond. She got nothing; she spent countless nights crying softly to herself trying to figure out why Adam was being so mean to her. She cried, and prayed to God - there were times she almost fell asleep on the roof from stargazing.

Destiny was nervous about starting 7th grade considering she wasn't particularly liked well last year. Destiny's first day was just a normal half day. Nothing unusual happened. The second day was a little more interesting for Adam and Destiny. It was around lunch when everything happened. Destiny sat by Annie and Jessie. "You shouldn't like Adam," Annie said trying to start off a conversation in the awkward silence that was surrounding them. "Why not? What's so bad about him that everyone says that," Destiny asked cluelessly. "He just isn't the guy for you...wait a month; he'll be gone before you know it," Jessie said giving Destiny the look of depise because she likes him.

Jessie, Destiny, and Annie were soon dismissed for recess. As they walked outside for recess, Destiny had something on her mind. She was determined to find out why Adam didn't want to be friends with her; she wasn't going to give up no matter what happened. She was stadning by 2 small, blue slides. Adam was climbing around on the ladder and monkey bars when Destiny approached him. "Why don't you want to be friends," Destiny asked in a very sophisticated voice. "Because." Adam responded with a broad statement that Destiny absolutley hated hearing. "Reasons," Destiny inquired as she leaned closer to him. "Because I don't want to be," Adam said trying to avoid Destiny at all costs. Destiny clenched his right wrist and pulled him close enough for her to say, "tell me what the reasons are." Adam looked at her. The bell rang and Adam quickly told Destiny, "Because you have no friends!"

After hearing Adam say that to her, Destiny was crying as she lingered towrds the school doors to resume class. Adam tried apologizing; Destiny refused many times and repeating. Adam went into depression mode since Destiny would not forgive him. He's tried everything he could possibly think of. From sending emails, to apologizing in person, to leaving notes in-between classes to let her know. Destiny was too reluctant to forgive him, though. "You have every right for being mad at him. He doesn't deserve you, you don't deserve him." Annie said it as she smiled merrily at Destiny. Destiny didn't really hear her and was too busy daydreaming about Adam. "I can't help but like him as much as I do. I don't know what to do, I wanna forgive him," Destiny said as her foot swept the floor in a circular motion.

Annie and Jessie didn't know what to do with the feelings Destiny had for Adam. Jessie wondered for ages. "Should we do anything? I'm sure it'll pass in a few weeks or a few days," Jessie spoke quietly as she searched around for Destiny. She found her being pushed by Adam. Adam would push the tire swing then jump on with Destiny. Jessie smiled to herself gently. "We're gonna have to," Annie quitely sighed as she saw Destiny and Adam, "I just don't want to see her get hurt anymore. She's had enough." The recess bell rang and Adam jumped off the tire swing and stopped it. He ran to get his lunch box then gestured Destiny over. "Come on! We don't wanna be late," Adam inquired laughing. They were the last kids to leave the playground. "Coming," Destiny shouted over as she ran with her loose hair waving back and forth. Adam thought it was cute, and kept that thought to himself. He turned around to start walking. Destiny tapped him on the shoulder to let him know she was there. Adam smiled as he lightly touched her hand.

"Hey, are you going to be on later," Adam asked questionably as the were switching classes for 7th period. "Ummm...why?" Destiny stopped in her tracks and stood there looking at Adam for a long time. "I wanted to talk, I want to know about you. You haven't told me anything and I'm curious," Adam replied with a small twinkle in his eye and he gave Destiny the cute look she could never resist. "Fine, talk to me when I get home. Kay," Destiny answered back smiling and she rolled her eyes jokingly. Adam bit his lip. "Awesome," Destiny heard Adam murmer. Destiny smiled as she walked to her History class just fown the hall. Destiny thought about all the adventures they could have. She finished through school for the day and took the bus home. It take about 45 minutes to get home, so nothing really happened since it takes Adam about the same time, as well. She went home and darted for her room.

I have dyslexia and insomnia - I know a lot about animals and I love science in general.
