Chapter 1: Destiny Meets Adam

Destiny first meets Adam and doesn't realize how he'll affect her life later on.

     Destiny woke up with the voice of her mom calling up to her. It was Destiny's first day at her new Jr. High. They combined 3 schools together to make it one. Destiny thought it was her time to have friends her age on whom she can place trust on. Destiny pulled off her black, red, blue covers and stood up from her bed. She yawned before changing into her dress pants and white polo T-shirt. She went into the bathroom and picked up her brush. She brused the tangling knots out of her hair before wondering downstairs. That's when she realized she had 5 minutes before she had to leave. She quickly grabbed a breakfast bar and ran out the door to her bus stop a block away.

 

     When Destiny arrives at school, she's shocked to see who was in her class. She thought to herself, "this will be the year I'd make friends. This is the year." She looked around the room and found her teacher by a bunch of other students. Destiny lingers over to her teacher and introduces herself. "Hi. I'm Destiny Alps. I'm in your homeroom as it appears! How are you?" Destiny spoke quite fast to her teachers surprise. "Why, hello Destiny. I'm Mrs. Holt. I'm your homeroom teacher, religion teacher, health teacher, and your P.E. teacher. Glad to have you in my class. Find a seat anywhere and we'll get started at 8:30. Okay," Mrs. Holt replied back smiling quite merrily for a teacher teaching her first time in a new school.

 

     Everyone got situated and Mrs. Holt introduced herself to everyone. "Hello class! I'll be your homeroom, health, religion, and P.E. teacher for this year. We are going to introduce ourselves to each other and to the other class. Destiny and Ricky, can you please go next door and tell Mr. Minks that he and his class may come over for our introductions? Thank you," Mrs. Holt spoke quickly but firmly. Destiny and Ricky got up out of their seats and walked over to Mr. Minks class. Destiny looked directly at Adam and smiled. Adam bit his lip. "May I help you," Mr. Minks asked Destiny and Ricky as he signaled them in. "Mrs. Holt said you and your class may come over now for introductions. Sorry if I was desturbing your class, Mr. Minks. I'm Destiny Alps," Destiny spoke loudly and quickly. Destiny could see the shock on Mr. Minks face from her fast talking. "Hi. I'm Ricky," Ricky said. Mr. Minks lined his class up and followed Destiny and Ricky back to their homeroom.

 

     Mr. Minks entered Mrs. Holt's room. "6H! Sit on the floor and allow 6M to sit in your chairs please. We explain what we're going to do in a minute," Mrs. Holt said raising her voice and gesturing over to Mr. Minks to encourage his class to sit down. 6H willingly sat on the floors as kids came and filled the now empty seats. "I'm Mr. Minks. I'll be 6M's homeroom and religion teacher. I'm everyone's math teacher. We are going to get in a circle and introduce ourselves one by one for the next 45 minutes. Okay? Mrs. Holt will explain the rest and give you the instructions," Mr. Minks spoke firlmy while playing with Expo marker in his left hand. "Okay. I need 2 groups. Those on the left side, stand by the vents - those on the right go by the counters," Mrs. Holt shouted through the room. The kids started lining up as if tehy were in the army. "Left side, tables get pushed back as far as they can go - right side, put all books on the desks on the counter," Mrs. Holt said. The kids were doing as they were instructed while Mr. Minks and Mrs. Holt were talking.

 

     After the 42 kids were done doing what they were suppose to do, the all stood in lines of 7. They waited for the next set of instructions. Destiny noticed Adam was standing next to her. She smiled and brushed past his shoulder as Mrs. Holt signaled her over to her. "Destiny, I need you write '6H-6M-6H-6M' on the board. That's going to be our pattern. I also need you to write 'Your name' as one bullet, 'What school you came from' as another, then 'your favorite hobby and 2 unique facts about yourself' as a 3rd bullet. Okay? Thanks," Mrs. Holt spoke to Destiny quite gently as she gave her a blue and red marker. They were brand new, and Destiny could tell it from when she took the cap off the 2 Expo markers. Destiny wrote what she was told on the board. The rest of the class were already talking amongst themselves. Destiny finished and gave the markers back to Mrs. Holt. Mrs. Holt tried getting everyone's attention, but no one was listening. She blew her whistle and everyone practically dropped dead silent. They looked at the board and formed a circle.

 

     Once the circle was formed, Mrs. Holt started out. "I'm Mrs. Holt. I came from many schools. My favorite hobby is drawing and I have 2 dogs and I always wanted a pet snake," Mrs. Holt spoke laughing to herslef, "okay, Ricky it's your turn!" Ricky looked at the circle and began to speak softly. "I'm Ricky Schofield and I came from Mother Anne's Elemantry school. I love playing basketball. My brother and I always play basketball against each other and I love making new friends," Ricky spoke softly and shyly. Next it was Jessie's turn. "Hey. I'm Jessie and I came from Mother Anne's Elementry school. I love cheering and basketball. I've been doing cheer my whole life and I've always wanted to make new friends," Jessie said with the biggest smile on her face. It was finally Destiny's turn. It seemed like no time for her. Destiny was nervous. "I'm Destiny Alps. I came from Ressurection of Jesus. I love hiking. I take pictures of nature and animals, I have a zoo in my house, and I knwo almost everything about animals," Destiny once again spoke so fast everyone's jaw practically dropped.

 

     After asking Destiny a few questions, it was Adam's turn next. Destiny just noticed Adam was next to her when he started talking. "I'm Adam Renders. I came from St. Annibell's. I love baseball. I love making new friends and hanging out with my best friend," Adam said this while looking at his best friend Luke. This went around through all 42 kids. When they were done, they still had 10 minutes left to just chill and talk. Adam immediately went over to Destiny and started a conversation. Destony thought it was semi-creepy. They talked about anything they could. Adam told Destiny everything from his past, to his secrets. Destiny kept everything a secret and just listened to him and whenever he asked something about her, she would tell him to keep talking about himself. This went on for about a week before they finally stopped talking. By early Septmeber, Destiny was already really into him. She didn't say anything to anyone. It was just silence - like Adam and Destiny didn't even know they existed to each other.
