Alexis meets Daniel. Daniel likes Alexis. They go on vacation together. Alexis likes Matt. Soon realizes Matt is a jerk. Likes Daniel. Fall in love with each other. Alexis is not me. Sher...it's you.

          It was the first day of summer for Alexis. She was excited and overwhelmed. She had been told that someone would be moving into the empty house next to her, today. She knew they had a kid about her age. The only thing she didn't know was if it was a boy a girl. But today, she was going to find out. It was around noon when Alexis asked her mom if she could go over and introduce herself. Her mother said "okay," because luckily, Alexis was just in time because her mom just finished making the banana bread for them. They walked over, and Alexis rang the door bell. A boy answers the door. He looks at Alexis, smiles, and invites them inside. The boy's parents just then came into the front room to see who it was. "Me and my daughter wanted to welcome you. I brought banana bread. My name is Hazel. What's your's?" Hazel, Alexis's mom asked. The boy's mother then replied, "My name is Ella, or Elizabeth. This is my husband Tom. And this is my son." Alexis stood there for a moment. She then said, "Hey. My name is Alexander. You can call me Alex or Alexis, if you want. Who are you?" Alexis asked the boy. "My name is Daniel. You can call me Danny or Dan, for short, if you would like." Dan smiled at Alexis. Alexis stood there confused.

 

          Alexis has been told that because it now has been a month since they met Daniel and their family, that Alexis's parents invited them to go on vacation together. Alexis knew Daniel had a crush on her. Then all of a sudden, Alexis's cell phone rang. She answered the phone. "Hello?" she asked nervously. "Hey Alexis! Nice to hear your voice! What goes on?" Matt asked excitedly. "Nothing. Getting ready to go on vacation with my neighbor, Daniel and his family. What about you?" Alexis answered quickly. Her heart pounded against her chest. Daniel looked at her with disgust. "Nothing. Waiting for school to return so I actually have something to do. LOL" Matt said laughing, which Daniel could hear through the phone. "Alexander! Daniel! Come on! You only have two days to pack! Let's go! Help each other pack! Come on! And Alexander! Get off that phone!" Hazel said impatiently. She sounded a little stressed and a little worried. Daniel and Alexis went to Dan's house and started packing up. "Alexis, I can't help but ask you this. Do you like me? Like more than a friend?" Danny asked quickly and nervously. "Uh...WHAT?" Alexis asked, astonished. Danny said quickly, "It seems like you like me, so I was wondering if what I was thinking, true. Because I really like you. A lot." "I'm sorry Daniel, but I like you as a friend. I gotta go. Text me tomorrow. Okay?" Alexis stated. Alexis left and went home. About the time she got home, she was just in time for dinner.  When she walked in, her mother said to her, "Alexis, can you please be nice to Daniel on vacation. He's only been here a month and you two are really good friends." "Yeah. We'll see about that after today." Alexis mumbled under her breath.

 

          The next day Daniel and Alexander were on their way to Fairhope, Alabama. They were driving there, so it would be a long ride. Daniel is in the way back of the truck, next to Alexis. Their moms were in front of them, and their dads were chatting cheerfully while Alexis's dad was driving, and Daniel's dad was in the passenger seat. "Do you like this "Matt" kid?" asked Daniel worriedly. "Yeah. Everyone has been telling me that he's been acting up and swearing a lot over the summer. I don't believe them. They are also saying how he's been hanging around gangs and they also told me that he said he was thinking about robbery now. I doubt it though. I think they're all just jealous becasue Matt likes me. And he tells me everytime I talk to him." Alexis said quite fast, and like how she knew everything. "But I honestly think you like me. You just won't allow yourself to believe it's true. Come on Alexis! Please!" cried Daniel, but not loud enough for anyone else to hear. Alexis looked at him with the "now I'm kind of worried" look. They rode two hours without talking before they finally fell asleep. Alexis and Daniel awoke at our parents calling out our names. They realized they were stopping to get food.

 

          When they got back into the car, it was silence the rest of the way, They feel asleep again on the way there. The awoke around 9:00 A.M. when they arrived at Fairhope, Alabama. We found out our parents got the biggest room, so we'll all be staying in the same suite. Alexis thought to herself, "Oh goody for me," as she rolled her eyes. Daniels's parents will be in one room, Alexis's parents another and Daniel and Alexis in the third one. The third room had two matresses. Alexis's and Daniel's parents pushed them together so Alexis and Daniel would have more room to sleep. They unpacked and everyone got settled in. It was 10:30 by the time they were done. They all got into their bathing suits and headed off for the outdoor pool. Alexis and Daniel started messing around in the pool splashing each other. Daniel asked Alexis if they could talk. Alexis nodded and they sat on the edge and started talking. "Did you have your first kiss with Matt? And are you two dating," Daniel asked, his tone in a low, high type voicing area range. "Uh...Yeah? And no," Alexis asked suspiciously. "Why don't you think of me more than a friend?" asked Daniel cautiously. "Because I honestly don't think it's right for me to like more than one person at a time. I don't think I could maintain a healthy relationship with my friends and family that way. If I didn't like Matt, then I admit, I probably would fall for you." Alexis said getting a little flirty with Daniel. Just then her phone rang. "Hello?" Alexis asked. "Hey babe. What's up? You're on vacation with that Daniel dude, right?" Matt asked, not sounding very pleased. "Yeah. And I've heard the rumors about you, and I don't like them. I think we should be done!" yelled Alexis through the phone. "Babe, babe, babe, babe. Think about it. Who cares what I did in the past. Your mine. No one can ever change that. And anyways, we never really did go out or anything." Matt said like a know it all. "You said, when you kissed me, that it was only the beginning. Well not it was our end, too!" screamed Alexis as she slammed the phone shut and as tears started down her cheeks.

 

          "Does that mean you like me now?" Daniel said grinning and laughing at the same time. "I don't know. I know I love you being my best friend, just not sure if I like you more than that." Alexis said smiling cheerfully. Just then, their parents came by and told them it was time to head back to their room and getting changed to go out to lunch. When they were done showering and getting changed, Daniel and Alexis got into a fight. "How come you won't like me more than a friend?! Best friend, that is!" screamed Daniel to Alexis. "Becasue!" cried Alexis. Alexis was in tears. Daniel ran over and gave her a hug. "I'm sorry." Daniel softly said to her. Alexis leaned against his chest. Alexis shed a new tear and looked at him. Daniel put his hand up, as of he was going to give her a high-five. Alexis put her hand and pressed it against his. She bent her fingers so it was like they were holding hands. Alexis giggled and said, "Why do you like me?" Daniel respond, cheerfully, "Because you're awesome. You have the best personality. I love that. I love you." Alexis smiled. "Do you know if you like me yet?" Daniel asked worridley. Alexis looked at him. She gave him the biggest hug and looked at him in the eyes. Alexis kissed Daniel and said, "does that answer your question?" she asked smiling, with a bit of a twinkle in her eye. Daniel and Alexis walked out of the rrom and saw their parents chatting on the couch, waiting for them. "Sorry we took so long. Had to get my wallet." Alexis said quickly before they could ask what happened. They all had lunch and a great time. Daniel and Alexis held hands, and hugged for the rest of the week they were there. When they got back, Daniel asked Alexis, "Alexis, please go out with me!" cried Daniel. Alexis looked at him, took his hand and kissed him. "Okay. What about tomorrow night. We can go to the beach and spend the whle day together," Daniel paused. "Just you and me. As long as you're in my arms, you shall never be hurt. Or harmed" Daniel said smiling. Alexis kissed Daniel good-night and headed in for the night.

 

          The next morning, Alexis woke up and went over tp Daniel's. Daniel answered the door. Alexis asked him "Hey. What's up? How was your night?" Daniel looked at her confused. Alexis got worried. She got a piece of paper and a pen. She wrote, "What happened? Can you not hear me?" Daniel wrote back, "I lost my cochlear implants. I can't hear. I have to sign. Using American Sign Language." Alexis wrote back, "What about tonight? How'd you loose them?" Daniel wrote back, looking very sad, "They broke. And we're still on tonight. Bring paper or something so we can communicate." Alexis looked at him and smiled. She wrote "no need. My cousin is deaf so I know a lot of sign language." Alexis flipped the paper over. "We'll be fine. ILY." Daniel looked at her and kissed her. "Me too. Did you even know I had cochlear implants?" Daniel asked a little confused. At that point Alexis swtichted to signing. She signed, "no, but my cousin has them so I understand you pretty well." Daniel signed back, "okay. haha. I have to go. I'll pick you up around noon. Okay?" Daniel asked Alexis. "Yeah that's fine." said Alexis smiling at him as she walked out of the door. They went on their date. The had a picnic, and watched the sunset go down. They signed to each other asking each other a lot of questions. The held hands, hugged, and kissed pretty much the whole time. They had the best time ever. They loved each other forever.
