The Heart's Maze

The Heart's Maze

A Poem by Tatyana

At the start of the maze
you know where to begin
and you know where to finish,
but everything in between is stressful
to say in the least.
Make one wrong move
and you hit a dead end.
Make two wrong moves
and trace your steps back to the beginning.
She made the maze for a reason.
So there would only be one finisher
of the thousands of men that attempt
to win her heart.
She uses empty excuses as dead ends,
and insecure lines of distress
to test your insight of her ambitions
as secret doors.
If you can see past the flawed human,
and discover the perfect angel
then you can finish the maze.
This requires you to become her heart beat.
Her beat controls the constant changes
that occur as you wind in and out of dead ends
searching for the perfect path.
But there never was a perfect path.
Until you unlock her heart
you will never leave the maze of love.
A timelessly eternal pit of stressful agony.
