RICHARD IIIA Poem by Raymond PrattSome observations on a much maligned Plantagenet.
I am Richard the Third,
Last of the Plantagenets: Come rally my standard, men! Feint to my right! Our White Rose of York Has been wronged! Lancastrian lies abound Of murderous intent. Say they of royal honor, I slaughter my kinsfolk, Child princes in chains: How so, am I not strong? I am Richard the Third And last of my lineage: Pierced thro' and pole-axed On Bosworth's green fields. How now, a priory for kings? Inter me where I belong Raymond Pratt © 2017 Raymond Pratt |
