FIÚSÍ (FUSCIAS)A Poem by Raymond PrattThe poem is in the Gaelic language and explores the old Gaelic word (DEORAÍ DÉ) for fuscias with the new Gaelic word (FIÚSÍ) in its spiritual sense
Uaireanta,
Nuair a mothaím Beagán ciall cheannaithe, Seancaithe leis an domhan, Ná bhfeicfidh mé fiúsí Ar coinneál go bogarnach Ins an aimsir ceathach -- ins an gaoth? Compórdach, ag glioscarnach, An roinn caillte o bhFlaithis a Thar anuas -- a dheoraí lúcháire Na Deoraí Dé. Translation... At times When I feel a little let down, Overwhelmed by the world, Will I not see fuscias Dangling easily In the showery weather -- in the wind? Comfortable, glistening, The lost part of Heaven That descended -- His tears of exultation, The tears of God. 2016 © 2017 Raymond Pratt |
